Reasonably common. You gain a merit by dumping an item worth over $1million, and the small suitcase is probably the cheapest

Going for the 1k dump merit. Also didn't touch this game for most of my accounts life.

If wait till Duke toss the good stuff in the dump over Christmas shindig. Then have even better chance at finding valuable stuff. Better use of E. Can get expensive items. That is best time to go for dump merit. I think.
its better if you wait 2-3 months for dukes dumpster giveaway, cause duke drops some good stuff like poison mistletoes
meaning you can probably get better stuff for the same e spent
or start a new account so you dont drag 17 years of afk behind you!
but make sure to close the old one first!

Unless you have years of work stats and commitment built up in your account. Restarting never makes sense unless you have irrredeemably pissed someone off and are still relatively low level.
He probably got atleast a few inactivity refills.
