just found an The Anchor in burglary as an unique item. You can use it to Sink a dead body in a Disposal crime. Since the Anchor is a use item will you lose it after use in Disposal? Seems so weird to me because The Anchor can only be obtained in the game as a single find, meaning; you can only sink a dead body ONCE (assuming you won't buy them from market) it just doesn't make sense from a game mechanics perspective.
The Anchor???

Yeah, as far as I can see from the wiki, it doesn't really make sense why we can only sink a dead body once.
You can only sink a dead body ONCE (assuming you won't buy them from market) it just doesn't make sense from a game mechanics perspective. The reason as far as I can tell is Its just one was to dispose of the body/limb the main way is to safely dissolve them. The charts taken from Emforus's guides (link below) shows its generally unsafe and I think It's better to keep the item as it might be useful in another Crime or OC later on. I have non data on this, but I This is the reason I have kept mine.

Advice: Dissolving works very often, sinking has been shown to work as well. No data regarding other methods.

FYI I burn all bodies and body parts. Data might be thin on the ground, but anecdotally its very safe and cheaper than acid.
^This. After you get all the uniques and the Dissolving Agent merit, you should always burn bodies and body-parts whenever they come up. It will usually succeed, and it's the only reliable method that makes any amount of financial sense.
it is weird that anchors are not a renewable item considering that there is a crime that would consume them, and it makes disposal with anchors financially bad, but I think that is fine. The game should have different ways to accomplish the same task, with some being a clearly more viable path than others. It is what makes a game interesting, that there are choices with different experiences for players to interact with.
Basically you can take the limited quantity for now as proof that also for now the devs don't intend the anchor to really be a useful item. If they ever want to make them more useful in the future they will have to add them as a regular find in the shipyard too, or some other way to get them, and until that happens we can be confident that the anchor is basically useless.
