I am selling a faction and have a buyer who wants to use a middle man as protection for us yet I feel like this is could be a scam despite the level and rep of the suggested middle man

Don't be fooled into thinking level means anything - plenty of level 15s (wink) that have a much better rep than plenty of level 100s.
Rep is really all you have, unless you have a committee member or a staff member sitting in the middle. Which I believe they're not really supposed to put their hand up for due to several fairly obvious complications...
You can sell factions through the trade function. You would have to actually try to get scammed lol.
If they have someone who wants to buy it for them, it's a pretty common thing. Lots of people proxy faction shells and companies. Just make sure you use the trade function, don't just transfer leadership or co-lead to someone.
Middlemanning as you explained is against the rules and will get everyone involved a nice fed ban. As said by Shooby, use the trade function with the original buyer.
No, middlemanning is if someone uses a middle man to transfer stuff between their multi or restarted account. Regular middlemanning is not illegal when all 3 parties involved are legit different players.
You're right. I guess it was changed and i didn't notice because it used to be any kind of middleman wasn't accepted.
It can kind of makes sense, but need to be extremely careful who the middle man is.
Would need to be a well respected player like Baldr (idk if he would do it...)
Also, I guess the middleman would take a cut.
As mentioned above, trading shouldn't be a problem as there are ways to make sure both sides are safe.
