From Beginners to Lv15 (Travelling..)

Hopefully, now I will be posting in the correct forum, unlike the last one! So my previous guide covered basic terminologies and a get-started guide. This one is a continuation of the same. Oh, and this time I'm typing it all ;)

When you are around level 15 and earning well, you should move into a PI. No sane person buys a PI unless they have billions because buying it costs 500 million and upgrades can bring the total to about 1.9 billion before you start making a profit, Tho if you are still persistent on buying one so get it from selling market where people sell out their PI which will save you some bucks.. last i checked someone was selling a fully upgraded PI for 1.6B so a .3B profit. Anyways, most players rent.

So there are two ways to do it:

1. If you earn enough, rent a PI with 3000 or more happiness so you can upgrade it to 4000 or 5000 happiness. This boosts your gym gains.
2. If you are just managing to survive, rent a PI with 2000 happiness, but it MUST have an airstrip. The airstrip lets you travel for free after hiring a pilot; you will need to buy travel tickets. Without the airstrip, the PI is just an expensive ranch.

Consider marrying someone so you can split the rent. Rent ranges from about 100,000 per day to 352,000 per day, which is tough to afford alone.

Marrying a person:
1. Find someone who agrees to split rent and propose using a "gold", "diamond" or "silver" ring from the item market or jewellery shop.
2. Use it and enter the name of the player you want to propose.
3. When the partner accepts, both will head to church and invite anyone to be a Witness.
4. Click Kiss, and you are married.

Also, there are a lot of "Commitment" merits if you stay married to the same person for a long time, so unlike real life, try to stick to one for a long time (no offence)! Oh, and I am a merit hunter, so if you are like me, check the list of 200 easy ones here or here!

Once you get into a decent PI, you can travel abroad. A few tips you should keep in mind:

1. Before flying, you need a suitcase to carry a reasonable number of items. A small one costs about 2M and gives +2 capacity, a medium is around 4M with +3, and a large is 10M with +4. The default capacity is 5, so the maximum with a suitcase is 9. Suitcases do not stack; only the highest one counts, and only once. Your PI with an airstrip adds +10, a job like Toy Shop or Flower Shop gives +5 for plushies or flowers, and faction adds +10. That brings the total to 29 items per trip, excluding job-specific bonuses.

2. You can't access your items, withdraw your funds or anything while flying, so keep cash on you but not too much that you get mugged (50-200k). And long flights are boring, I am actually writing this while travelling to Argentina.
3. You have close to 10 seconds to land, buy stuff and "Fly Back", else you are available to be mugged and stuck in hospitals you can't med out of, and revives are expensive (2xans each or so). So I suggest you should be online 3 minutes before landing so you can wait n act fast.

Then you can sell them in Torn for profits. Here are the items from each country with the current maximum profit, but these are subject to change with the Torn economy, so be sure to check the most recent market values from Weav3r or YATA:

Update: Torn introduced many new items along with the pre-existing plushies and flowers. Xanax is also available in many places, with the most profitable locations being the UK at 741,317, followed by Japan at 772,317, and South Africa at around 775k. I did not include the Large Suitcase in Hawaii since it costs 10M. It can be profitable, but buying in bulk and reselling requires a lot of cash.

Also, they can go out of stock, and their values can change just like normal market items, so make sure to check them here. Also consider the loss of natural regeneration of Nerve and Energy while flying to faraway countries. There's a detailed guide explaining this all in depth here.

Also, there are various perks of visiting each place say offshore bank in Cayman, a rehab in Switzerland, Hunting in SA, and so on. Plus, the merits of visiting each place 50 times. Another Merit is "Souvenir": So, to earn that merit, you gotta snag a souvenir that matches the last two digits of your player ID while you're abroad. Check the whole list and find yours by looking here.

If you like hunting merits like me, do check out various "Honours" and "Medals" every once in a while. These can be used as Merits to increase various perks, try maxing out "Education" followed by "Bank Interest" and so on, but feel free to explore what each of them does and they may help your gameplay be better. Plus, if you mess up and want to reset..... Guess what??? There's a merit for that as well. Although I don't recommend reseting you merits too soon, wait for 100+Awards and then do the reallocation, since they cost around 500Points and increase by 250 every time you reset them. Also, you get a free Merit Reset every Christmas! 

A few scripts that you must use to get the best experience:
So before starting this list, everyone has a different device, so for phones, the TornPDA app covers most of them already. You just need the API Keys, and it auto-adjusts the scripts and everything you may need. While for the desktop, you need to install TamperMonkey

1. FFScouter: To estimate a player's stats, but it is a double-edged sword. You have the extension installed, and when you attack a player, their Estimate stat gets updated immediately for everyone to see. For Setup: You simply need to head over to their main website. Scroll a bit down, and it has a button for "Create your own custom API Key" Press that, and it will create one for you. Use that key in every FFScouter-related website or script!
2. Bazaar in Item Market: As the name suggests shows the prices of items listed in Bazaars to avoid you from getting something overpriced. No API Key Needed!
3. TornTools: It's not really a script its an extension, but quite a helpful one. So, for this one, you need a Limited Access Key. To create that, you can simply head over here and add that. Also, take your time to actually explore this extension and toggle the settings on and off as per your need. You don't need to duplicate FFScouter for one. TravelTable is an insane feature it has. And there are a ton more!
   
   Then there are a few more that I use, LazyCrimes, Better Faction Chat, Chain Caller, and so onn. You can explore a ton of useful scripts and how to use em as you see fit on GreasyFork
