Changed Arson to fetch data every 5 seconds instead of 15 seconds to mitigate scripting advantage

Looks like we don't need scripts to see the last action now either

unless it does show last action with 1 second accuracy, you still want to have script for that.

Honestly love this mentality. The fact that third parties have developed something and it's been adopted by the community as a QoL feature shows that it should be in the game and for it to actually make it into the game shows the devs care.

 What kind of advantage were scripters getting?

Good.  Ask him to work on getting rid of more.  Make people actually play the game instead of scripts doing all the work for them.

Most of the time when people say get good they actually mean get good scripts.    What's next?  Sign on and hit one button to do everything?

You do realise that any script that takes over playing the game is illegal? Most scripts are purely information collated into a simpler form.

The amount of people cheating is probably very small, the amount of people blaming cheats for them being bad at the game is probably a lot higher.

I have no idea, I can't think what you would even need to script past showing what the items do/will do to each target and adding the building stats, apart from automating it which you aren't allowed to do anyway.

Maybe you could force update to save a few seconds of your day which seems pointless and is a crime which is capped per day so you aren't gaining any "advantage" doing them quicker anyway.

This statement would be a lot more useful and far less condescending if you removed the ""You do realize..." at the beginning of the statement. Beginning sentences with "You do know/you do realize" in this context basically translates to "I am smarter than you and this is why" and people will automatically bristle at that. You might find your points will get across more clearly without the condescending tone.

There is also plenty of legal scripts that hit pvp interactions and 100% give a massive advantage lol

Specifically for arson the script was taking information from the fire and telling us what it would do in the next 25 seconds, so you knew what was going to happen before it did

They nerfed the network data by reducing the amount of data sent to the client and in turn increasing the update rate. we now get 10 seconds of data ahead instead of 25 seconds.

Still a really lame choice of "scripting advantage" to mitigate and not something most people care about when talking about "scripting advantage". That script is on the same level as the modern day egg finders as well.... worthless
