If you read everything I wrote, I'm basically saying the same thing as you. I think the price should have stated the same but make it an untradeable item. That way the people who want it in the end because they actually want it to keep will be the ones who buy it. I think it's safe to say the majority of people who bought it planned to sell it but if you won't be able to then those people will not be buying it and they won't be getting that extra money.
I also think it's weird that such a special item at such a special time for torn was being handled the way it was by releasing it in a single time zone at a random time to be sold so quickly. But that's a separate issue. Increasing the price by 500% was not the way to do it. All I did is make people who really wanted it not be able to afford it, or have to spend a lot more money to get it secondhand
Um... if people haven't used one for a year, then how badly can they need them? This seems to be a problem only for those who like to watch numbers go up and have a niche fetish for free resets numbers.
If this is what we're complaining about, devs are doing a bang up job.
I kind of agree with your argument, but if they were cheap people would buy them "just to keep them". Let's be real, if a player hasn't even been in the game long enough to afford 5000 points then why should they even have one?? How much does a newbie even know or care about the players who got keepsakes?
Keepsakes are limited to only 250 each, and we have over 80,000 users. A prohibitive price is a necessity in order to ensure that people who actually care about them end up with them.
Some coward sent me an anon message to tell me I don't understand strategy, and I know it was related to this thread. I understand it well enough to know yours isn't working if you're afraid to speak publically.
I've never really liked the merit reset system. I could accept 15m per reset that the first one costs, but the ramping costs are stupid. It just gimps newbies who didn't plan ahead. The free merit resets were basically a band-aid to fix that problem... and they seemed to do the job well enough... so why limit them first?
Yeah, pretty much what I said nothing about the system is cohesive in the first place, so why is it being tweaked now instead of outright changed? What's even the goal here. Seems to be a common thought in this thread just "okay but...why?"
