My personal stats show one SE used.

 

As far as I can remember (and it was a long time ago, so don't judge me) I found and used a parachute, not really understanding how they worked. 

 

This was before I quit playing (for about 10 years) and I guess at the time there wasn't a merit for it. Since I'm not planning on making the same mistake again and I'm a way off genuine SE use, could I get the merit as a small consolation for my earlier stupidity?

 

It was similar with the bargain hunter merit but I have since won more auctions so that is moot now.

You need to use an SE to trigger the award, it is not awarded retroactively if you used the SE before the introduction of award.
