What’s the point of buying miscellaneous items, and why are they sold at an atrocious price? Have i missed something? Are "Other" items used for something? I list them at their value + interest.

The ones that sell for more than vendor are usually just hoarded by collectors. No idea why someone wants a million bottle caps, but more power to 'em, I guess. I hope the apocalypse treats them kindly.
Because when the nukes start dropping and the banks are obliterated, the market house in flames and the stock market building is a pile of rubble... Bottle caps will become the standard currency.
Word is from a source in not prepared to name that this is likely to happen on Feb 29th
