At the start of the game, there's a random square selected. If you put an item in that square, you win it all.
Pot is pure random. RNG. A random number is chosen at the beginning of each round. Whoever puts the last item in when that number is reached wins the pot. The only thing you have control over is not putting the first item in. Anyone who says they are "good" at pot is just lucky at knowing when to put something in and having good RNG.
The later you wait the higher the chance of winning. also basing your timing on the value of items already places changes if your timing is smart or stupid. Example go in when there is 3 rows of goose but go in if there are 2 rows of cans with high value.. If everybody dropped the cheapest items every round it would be pure luck but because some drop higher value items your roi can be profitable.
I am up on pot and talked to other names i see often winning alongside me and we share similar strategy and timings, i advised some faction members on optimal strategy and they are all now profitable on pot
If there's an average 30 items per pot then if you keep your drops to 16+ you'll profit on average. If you do less you'll break even or lose. Figure it out and avoid pots that are inordinately low value items to skew it even more in your favor.
