Sponsored by Rockstar Rudolph, this nativity scene is made of guitar accessories! Why, you ask? It goes without saying that Torn itself is music to our ears, but is there any season more steeped in music and song than the Christmas/Winter season? Carols, hymns, and all the pop and rock classics that ride that fine line between heartwarming earworm and mild torture. Even one of Duke's challenges was song‑themed.

 

2 whammy bars for the stable, a classical guitar tuner with golden tone knobs for the 'Three Wise Men'. Slides for Mary and Joseph. A cradle made from an E string for Baby Jesus, and above all the Star of Bethlehem made of picks.  

 

So, without further ado I present to you: the Rockstar Rudolph Guitar‑Parts Nativity:

 

 

As you can see I forgot to add 2025 to my slip of paper. So in the spirit of Christmas technicalities I recreated the scene:

The Torn cast decided to recreate the original scene. My daughter graciously donated her Nativity set for their entertainment and when the curtain fell, it was time to play.

I hope this counts as three-dimensional!

 

This is a hand-cut glass mosaic nativity scene in the style of Christmas Town. I experimented with different types of glass. I used dark gray grout because some Torn players are crazy enthusiastic about dark mode. ;)

This depicts the glorious day on which Ched gives life to a long awaited game update.

 

The angel Sugarvalves appeared to them, and the glory of Torn shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. At 10:00 there will be scheduled downtime for behold unto you this day is born Crimes 2.0"

Very long ago, like a whole year ago or something, in Torn City... Somewhere in the USA, but aligned with UK timezones... Proxima & Heasley4Hemp were racing to bring about the end of days.

Together, they gave birth to a mighty Pumpkin, known as Baby Apocalyptic Basket, and provided it with many treats from far and wide.

Three Wise Guys travelled across the City Map, unfortunately raiders had taken all their loot before they made it.

Together, Proxima and Heasley4Hemp followed the closest thing that resembled a star; Big Al's Gun Shop. The Angel D3vl came to provide much needed opinions.

The streets were, as always, cluttered with skateboards, presents and Penguins.

After countless Reserved signs, the two found much needed shelter and placed Baby Apocalyptic Basket in the manger and smothered it with treats. The ritual is completed...

Turns out making figurines out of tinfoil is not as easy (who knew), so some explanation is required:

 

  • Scene is set in the "pick a present" shack. Because baby M'aol is a present. of sorts
  • Virgin Mary is Ana - a woman with shiny hair and a flag 
  • Baby Jesus is baby M'aol summoned by sacrificing thousands of ferero roche 
  • Joseph is  Heasleys4Hemp - a man with a gold bushy beard and a rudely shaped squid 
  • The three wise men are.. Qfifle with drugs, Baldr with his guide for noobs and Weav3r with a plushie nessie (I know it looks like a turtle)
  • And there is supposed to be a donkey or a drummer boy, or something. So here is chedburn riding a unicorn bicycle with one wheel.

So, here I am, one day before the New Year. Alone, in front of my tree. Lost in my thoughts, I have a vision. What if I paint my hand and post a picture of it? Here we are.

 

No, these guys are not the Bee Gees or ABBA. They are, from left to right:  

 

Alan, the Donkey (I wrote “Donkey” so everyone can understand my brown snake)


bogie (because I saw him in my dreams)


Leslie (looking like a pimp)


Dukie (drawn like my Albanian uncle Gjergj)


and… GAY. No, not the orientation — I mean the person from the recycling plant.  

 

All of them came together to see the magnificent Baby Xanax.  

 

After this heartfelt story that I wanted to share, you may ask, “How did he make that picture?”  
– With my mouth silly.

 

 

Also, did I make pictures from multiple Angles? Nah, totally forgot about it. But hey, at least the thought counts. (i say, writing with my AI hand)
