Scammer alert

I was scammed by this guy named onesat 1941490. We mailed each other and agree on 600k per hit. It is on his profile btw

 I'm a new player and wanted to earn to be established in the game so i made a decisions to hit on him t raise funds. So the big day comes and i hit him 5times in a row and mailed him. No answer. I tried to chat him and he blocked me. I felt betrayed for what he did. It's not about the money that made me upset, it was the trust that i had given him. I felt really bad on what just happened.

Guess you can take it as a learning experience, the too good to be true offer shoulda been a tip off though.

First sorry this happens to you. From now on, always make sure the seller is trustworthy when doing business, and try to ask for payment first if you can. Look at enemy count too, if that person has too many enemies it is usually a red flag. Consider this a cheap lesson, there are worse scams out there and this is a crime game, so this is really the kind of stuff you can expect here. 

Posting this on general discussion doesn't really help... it just make you a target for mugs and retals, especially when you're weak. 

Anyway, I am always curious why people are that eager to scam and lowball noobs for loss, maybe it makes you feel good you scammed someone? Financially it doesn't make too much sense, like here 5 loss is just about 1.5m (market price about 300k/loss). If you're established you can prob make like at least 10-20m per day in passives at least so why go out your way to dm all the noobs just to ruin your reputation for a few mil like that....

It's sad as f**k that we've had 2 threads about people scamming for f**king defends. Legitimate sad ****s taking advantage of, of all players in the game, the new players who have it hard enough. The early game if Torn is literally the most expenaive part of the game and to top it off you probably know nobody, have no assets to speak of and probably don't have a clue what you're doing. 

Dsla and Onesat, lowest class scum in Torn. 

His giveaway thread is more or less scamming with shady title like "Giving away Red Weapon or Private Island" etc etc. Basically, he is using it to beg people with high NW for donation and ask newbie to upvote his thread. I doubt he even actually giveaway those items he mentioned. There was one person i know donated some yellow weapons to him. He probably kept them for himself or resell it.

I see it as a power play. The scammer likely gets a kick out of the scam and the fact that the victim more often than not cant really do anything about it, especially when they are noobs.

first time I've seen forums be this nice :o 

other people noted a lot of things you should def think about, outside of those I suggest using your energy for training (try to be happy jumping or choco jumping always) and for money instead be flying whenever you can (WITHOUT DELAYING OCS or wasting cooldowns)
