Most of the responders are horrified at the idea of doing anything less then the best possible scenario, thats why most of these peoples facs stayed in OCs 1 for a while.

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

Yes ignore it, because it questions your entitled view of the system.

The fact its only ever the same handful of ppl downvoting me shows how much of a vocal minority of ignorant, entitled little brats you are.

Whiskey_Jack and his band of ass-kissing crybabies strikes again.

Run back to your discord echo chamber so you dont have to face the horrors of alternative points of view

Negan [2066105]

I downvoted you, because a dude who's permanently chat banned, most likely doesn't have anything useful to say.

Mickadin [2745651]

I’m not the usual handful. I’m an unusual handful at best. I downvoted because in this thread you’ve shown yourself to be an insufferable twat with nothing useful to say.

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

how expectedly dismissive. Oh no I cant use chats... You and me would never actually DM each other. Forum interactions are for forums

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

Yes, because the people crying about things not going their way is so useful to the forums and Torn as a whole. About as useful as my comments and yours as well.

But hey, who actually goes to GD for Discussion, its all about screaming into the void

IndyCision [2597200]

It is probably more because when OCs 2.0 were announced they were told it would be better money than 1.0, and due to how the release schedule has worked and how they are spawned it has meant factions are being limited more and more over time. The feeling of "this isn't what we were sold"

When other money sources are nerfed with the promise "it is so that the new crimes and OCs can payout even more without inflation" it kind of grates :)

Fatbears [2197270]

yes but it's also straight up a better system that DOES pay out more, and we got told, do not switch if you have a faction that's running 20+ PA's with regular success because you will not make better money.

And what we saw was a lot of factions who were running 20+ PA's switch then cry that they're making less money.

As a leader I can attest that the system is making great money, it's a better overall system and it makes more money for the Majority of members. Which is better overall. It was garbage when we switched and we assumed that it would be the case but it would be beneficial to get people used to the new system over making money.

A lot of people in this thread are noob factions, lower membership factions or semi inactive factions who aren't able to actually participate in the system because they're still growing.  That's life, get over it.  You'll get there, crying that you have to play in the scope game is pointless.  it's there exactly for that reason.

Reverting back to the old system is dumb and counter productive, sitting here crying is counter productive. Figure out how to get yourself into the new OC's figure out how to grow.  If you're 25man cache farm can't do OC's reasonable, re-evaluate why you're running a 25man cache farm.

It's cant be both ways.  You can't play your super specific game style and also have the system work for you if it's going to work for everyone else.

I would love an easier system with lower CSR or faster/easier CSR, we could steamroll it. Switching it for the small guys massively benefits the top and that's something that is clearly not understood in this thread by the majority.

Thank you for one of the most sensible posts I've seen in this thread for a long time!

When Ozc2.0 came out I followed this thread religiously despite not being the OC organiser in whatever faction im in.

At the time I was in JFK-Future Killers, and we did have members that knew all the numbers for the specific roles in OCs, what they did miss though was the conversation here when the buff to the 8/9 OC was introduced.

We had previously tried that OC but  had found it too difficult, but once I saw the conversation here I was able to convince leadership to try it again and we discovered that we could run about 2 teams on the lvl9 part

Without the discussion here I wouldn't have spotted that!

However the whole thread does seem to be complaining about how the spawn doesn't work right for you

"I get too many 7s instead of 8s blah blah blah"  then do a 7 rather than an 8

How many years did you go without being paid for any OC until you started doing PAs?

The odd week doing an OC under the one you think you should be doing isn't going to break you!

Apatxe [2813453]

Not sure about you but for me crime 2.0 AND OC 2.0 combo is doing way better than crime/oc 1.0...

Let's say you were making PA religiously generating an average of 5m a day with PA (doubt, but let's say you are on a great faction with great PA success). Your income is 5m + what? 1k per nerve burning warehouses to increase CE?

Meanwhile, in OC 2.0, even at level 7 you make 4.8m average? Source below:

Add ~2m a day from crime 2.0 (depends on rng but arson and disposal have jobs that can generate over 8k profit per nerve. Scamming has been consistent for me at 8k+ per nerve too). That alone brings me above 1.0 income... while doing safe crimes and increasing CE too! We also have confirmation that ched has not released all mid level crimes, let alone high levels so the potential is there for way more profit.

"But Apatxe, I used to do hacking for 4-5m extra a day"... read above and do the math on what you need to do to be above PA + Hacking. Every direction seems to point at 2.0 being better income now and even more so in the long run.

EDIT: Good point below! You were also locked at 60 Nerve bar in crime 1.0 (100 nerve per day with +40 faction). Here you have no limit. I am at 135 nerve bar with faction perks. More nerve to make more cash too

Winguem [2862329]

And this is without taking note that remaining in Crimes 1.0 will lock the nerve bar to 60, you're losing out on extra nerve there, not to mention that hacking is not going to grow CE as fast too.

AND MERITS!

IndyCision [2597200]

I am not saying otherwise - I migrated to Crimes 2.0 immediately and my faction was one of the first batch to join the OC 2.0 beta. We are thoroughly enjoying OC2 and just succeeded our first T10 - I was just answering skittle with the "why are some people moaning" :)

IndyCision [2597200]

I wasn't complaining about 2.0 compared to 1.0, was just explaining the thought process behind why some people are :)

If I focus on the good income per nerve crimes in each type I am positive I am making more now (combined both Crimes and OCs) than I was before, but those same people complaining wiould say "Crimes 2.0 is worse because they want to just be able to dump all their nerve quickly without losing money by doing so"

I do use up a chunk in other places which give no direct income - like Big Al's when security is down - because it is worth it to me, and will splurge some nerve on low income crimes before taking Xanax in case I OD, but again that is just down to prioritising other things above the direct money - I would rather use that nerve towards extra CE and NNB increase than risk losing it, and I really like that for CE growth there is no longer a "you must do this" route.

I had to go back to my old spreadsheet to check, and was making around 3m per day from PAs when including fails, and an average of 8m from hacking - but I swapped to Crimes 2.0 the day it was released because it looked more fun and that was more important than the money to me. Our faction moved to OCs 2.0 on the first day of the beta for the same reason.

(Side note just because I am a bit anal and can't help myself - that image you quoted above is the max possible income for each OC with no deductions for consumables and assuming 100% CPR in all roles - it was used to compare the potential OC rewards per tier, not to say how much you will actually be earning from them)

RichardV [1103695]

The solution is not overly complicated and I think most would be ok with compromises.

Its really not that hard to get creative.

Allow faction to spawn whatever OC they want.

Increase difficulties of all OC by 25% across the board for long term balance.

Implement notoriety mechanic from shoplifting with a slight twist. Continuous success in a specific OC make it harder pass, but also increase rewards when on an OC streak to simulate getting on a "hot run", sort of like Bonnie and Clyde. Base rewards can start at 0.8x and increase up to 1.5x. However only the best teams can maintain a high streak of doing the same crime.

Introduce a moral mechanic for repetitive fails. The faction gets lower success across the board after fails, and you have to mix in some easy crimes to keep morale at a good level.

Honestly there are so many more creative ways than simply sticking to RNG.

Tarzan [2753285]

This is it in a nutshell.

no one expected to be rocking billies on day 1. We started at 1/10s during early release and didn’t complain. All the way up to doing 10s, where the payout is exactly NOT what was promised and in fact, injects zero dollars into the economy, relying on player driven valuation.

in other words, call a spade a spade. No top or medium faction is complaining that the income is bad. We are complaining that the income is not what was promised.

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

The item based OC adds items and the OC that pays cash injects cash into the economy, good cash that everyone wants for the best profit.

f**kin crazy how that works.

The income for the cash OC seems to be what was promised, and people enjoy that. Undersrandable.

Now theres an Item OC for the highest tier, like all other tiers. The item OCs never pay as much per member as cash. Thats the point.

But it also pays out an item that has its usefulness on a per-case basis and will sell to others seeking that niche. See Counter Offer for an example.

The anger here comes from people making Metas for a system still in the process of releasing scenarios. The system is not complete, the first parts of it released seem to show they can be good in their word, and now they are rolling out OCs that aeent meant for EVERYONE but can still profit and benefit niches.

In short, youve been shown theyre working to keep their promise in the long run, but ppl are crying about short-term changes in a game that is geared towards long-term effort and setting yourself up for success later. The devs play the same f**king game we do

IndyCision [2597200]

Counter offer isn't a good example, as all the items you get have a sell to shop value (which most of those items market value has dropped to, due to the standard long term supply and demand) so it is effectively rewarding you with just cash too. They don't end up with players.

Same with most of the cars you can get rewarded with too.

Stage Fright would be the closest equivalent to the new T10 in its current form, except those have a constant demand.

If the sell-back mentioned by bogie/Ched gets implemented (after being monitored as stated) then it would be an equivalent example - but again outside of demand spikes where they are buying for more the sell price they will still be just swapped for cash rather than sold to players.

I would suggest the anger comes more from the forced participation due to RNG and limited spawns of "desired" OCs - something you're probably not going to have much experience with for a while if you continue to sit in a noob filled cache farm that wouldn't need to worry about scope loss.
