TornW3B: Bazaars, RW, & Profit Tracking

Most of these questions will be answered when I decide to fully launch the pricelist feature of my site, which is likely still a couple weeks out at least. Many features of the service are still incomplete.  But given I did open this up to the public for beta testing and questions, I'll answer regarding how things are setup currently:

If the buying list basically what you're willing to pay for items or is that the prices that your system searches for/highlights when I'm searching for certain items to buy?  

That is the price that you are willing to pay for that particular item or property, or what you're willing to accept for that service. 

I also noticed the trade button, I'm flying so I haven't experimented yet, but when you click trade does it setup a trade with the items you want to buy or sell (based off of the "pricelist" like TornExchange)?

This will simply open you to the page to initiate a trade with the user whose pricelist you are clicking that from, nothing more. 

I like the way you've setup your system better than TE so, the more I can learn about how to use it efficiently.. the more I'll use it.

Good news here, is that I do consider Ata (the creator of TE) a friend of mine, so the good news is that I plan for users to be able to use both interchangeably. Of course, there will be some healthy competition between us for the sake of improving upon both services.

Do the "Market Filter" and the "Market Resale Helper" work on your site and if so I don't see them active in Tampermonkey.

I'm not sure what scripts you're referring to. As far as userscripts go, I don't make any for my site since anything I want added I can just add to the site itself (and I've taken inspiration from userscripts others have created for my site to integrate their features into my site). 

Most market fillers/helpers that do run on Torn do use my site to some extent though via the public API provided through my site that you can find here!

Service Disruption

Weav3r is currently at work so has asked me to take a look at the issues being faced right now. It looks like there has been a security issue with a dependency that the site is built on. There is no reason to suspect this was Torn related, and the data on the server looks mostly fine, other than the redirects, but I have outstanding concerns we have addressed for now. After a quick chat, he has removed the DNS records to the server temporarily to prevent traffic being directed to the server - this is likely to remain in place for at least several hours, and until we know more about the issue.

I did attempt to close only the impacted frontend for the project, but we seen other errors in the process (unrelated to security, just functionality), so it seems better to be cautious for now, so this is going to impact script users too. It continues to operate the "worker" component to fetch updates, so you may still see API calls being made - this is expected.

Please refrain from messaging Weav3r about it for the moment please, he is getting a lot of messages and any statements that need releasing will be done here and on the Discord.

Ched sent his devs in to stop you from cutting into his tax scheme. Kinda ironic that ched could fix this by flipping a switch on something already in the game the he pulled.

Oh thank f**k. I’d been playing with my scripts and I thought I broke my Torn PDA. 

This. Man I had to buy from the bazaar and I couldn't auto-sort by price. It was the dark ages.

Are the api's safe or do we delete for now

I turned off the API earlier and the DNS is disabled so you can't reach it even if you wanted to, so no need to delete the scripts etc as it doesn't pose an issue keeping them.

I think the question is more "do I need to delete my key associated with the site" not so much about the script itself :)

Not really a clear cut answer to it, when Weav3r is back from work going to run over everything. Either way, I've been doing backups for him, so we have a list of all keys and if it needs wiping after we send over the findings to the admin, they can do a mass wipe if it's needed. But my key is in the mix too, and I've not deleted it. I don't think it's worth a panic really and once the tech landscape is figured out, might be a decision better taken by the powers that be and save everyone the hassle of doing it individually if that's the case.

I deleted the key. No panic, just a common sense. One can always put a new one in about 2 seconds.

It's been a rough week. I intended to release these changes much sooner, but the circumstances obviously prevented that. Alas, here we are.

Pricelists

• An Advanced option is now available to give you full control over how your items are priced. Minimum price, maximum price, bulk pricing. It's all there under the Items tab.
• The Settings > Receipts tab has seen notable changes. You can now paste trade logs of a user adding items to quickly generate a receipt, and set custom receipt messages to optionally appear at the top of trades or be sent to your sellers.

• If you are logged in, you will now see your buy price alongside market value, circulation, and average bazaar price.
• Added the Sell tab. This works similarly to the Search Deals page released previously, but makes it even easier to find traders looking to buy your items.

  • Currently unused, added in preparation for an upcoming change to improve bazaar update reliability

Scammers

• Added the ability for me to block users’ bazaars from being updated on W3B who are using my platform to scam players.
• No blocks on first offense.
• Repeat abuse will result in a block.
• All bazaar history is logged and verifiable. False reports will be detected.
• Blocked users will see an error message

• Too much to list. Just use it. 
• Core behavior remains the same.
• A large number of bugs have been fixed.
• Additional QOL improvements added.
• New interactive tutorial to answer the majority of common questions.

• Replaced the most volatile items list with highest rated traders.

• Added collapsible elements to further reduce vertical clutter.
• Removed caching for bazaar listings to ensure fresh data on refresh.
• Updated the Privacy Policy with details related to upcoming Faction Scanning.
• Updated bazaar scanning logic to reduce long update delays.
• Updated item rows on the manage pricelist page to use less space and improve navigation on small screens.
• Various security fixes and improvements.

If I'm offering items on my bazaar at a price above the market price, why does the website show a loss in the profit/loss column? Just curious. 

Ie, market price for a drug pack is 4.242 million, I'm offering it for 4.6 million, yet the website is saying a loss of around 400k?

Probably calculated with a buyer's formula, not as a seller.
