what if we can report those players who intentionally raise (or set) items to an unreasonable cost, with the punishment of item market/bazaar restriction?

I really don't see why anyone should care about it
What??
Yes I think stricken 40% should cost about 100 mil or 30 day fed xD
Quick! To the Attorney General’s office!
Why not just ignore those listings? Or if they really piss you off, hit the gym and dish out some of your own punishment.

Seeing as ched as stopped most of the biggest price gouging issues when he changed the icons for items, I don't really see this as a continued issue anymore?
It's not like when xan/vicodin looked the same and DPs/grendade boxes looked the same.
I wanna report dumb suggestions/posts instead.
If you have a problem with the price of something, either negotiate with the seller for a lower price or get more money (which is NOT hard in Torn.)
There are WAY more protections from even accidentally buying overpriced items (showing percent above or below average, confirming on "above average" sales, etc.) than there used to be. At the end of the day, it's a skill issue above all else.
But why? Why is this necessary? If it's too expensive, then don't buy it, I don't see what tattling will do. If this is your solution, this isn't the game for you.
Respectfully, this is a dumb take
toothbrushes are very reasonable at 10K not sure what you mean.
To answer your direct question: staff would then be spending enormous amounts of time dealing with nothingness and not addressing actual user abuse and harm.
Or like just don't buy them, there's a whole warning system involved. What even is this?
Hmmm, did you buy vicodin with xanax price
or
buy Mistletoe with Poison Mistletoe's price?
....
Welp
Please say you're trolling
Supply and demand. It’s Economics 101! People will pay the price that deem correct; if it’s too much, it won’t sell. Simple.
Personally I have all my flowers and plushies set to $1m in my bazaar, as it is purely storage. Sick of the item over-limit warnings. Do I get penalised?
