It could still be a legitimate websocket scraper no? I guess yeah if it’s going on within seconds that only a websocket scraper could relay the information in. But I don’t see how that’s particularly distinguishable from looking for successful mugs where the mugger wasn’t the buyer that occur within 10s of the purchase
The false pings are not a concern. You'd be index-matching to a list of like 40 active players who have a suspiciously noteworthy amount of money mugged.
If you know when you're about to med out, you can have someone ready to mug the mugger who is about to buy from you, if you have a repeat customer.
You can also add all the known muggers to your friend or foe list and watch for online status before medding out.
You can also add muggers to your enemy list and prevent sales to them, so they would at least have to work in a pair.
You can also have an SED ready to use after medding out.
You can also immediately med back in to bait a sale for a mug target (you) who is already back in hospital (1 second to self hosp after med out using quick items).
You can also reset your hospital time and then med out a little while later, after your idle icon has gone back to yellow. Set up your items to be ready to use without having to reload your screen and reset your idle status. Using the item will be your active icon status changing event.
Or you can launder your inventory by having a friend buy your stuff while you're still in hospital.
Or you can sell to someone who does this for a living ("Trader" title) and offset the risk onto them.
Ok. can i just state the obvious. This thread is full of examples that is 100% obtainable through normal game, just by simply stalking or by partnering up with a buyer.
Staff have all the logs in the world to find the real culprits.
This will turn into a place where but hurt people go to cry about being mugged.
But by all means, let the witch hunt begin..

If you caught me mugging your Xanax sale without buying, it's because you didn't self hosp or fly and I overdosed and was sad mugging. I was literally camping the Xanax item market page for lowest price listings that sold quickly.
....if the price was low enough I may have even simply started the attack the second you listed and then counted to 7 and then mugged you.

Come on, Grim. You had told me yourself, when I interrogated you on your opposition to my Suggestion thread to remove live API calls on baz/market listings other than our own, that you use API to scoop up the cheap xanax because apparently it's woefully too much work to actually watch the market like I was fundamentally suggesting should be done. It was bad enough the first time you pretended to be concerned about other issues to protect that personal QOL improvement and revenue source at the expense of fairness in the entire game, let's not pat ourselves on the back too hard.

I can understand some of these mugs that happened in seconds...less than 10 seconds after purchases were made. But id remove the ones that happened 30s...40s...even a minute after purchase? At that point id say skill issue

I like Sir Jux because i buy lots of cheap drug packs from him. But he seems to be 100% ready for 100% of everyone medding out. I have friends who sent me logs of the same thing...some logs even worse with a med out, 3 bulk purchases and a finished mug in less than 3 seconds from time of med out. He just ALWAYS knows when and who is going to med out. Maybe hes a psychic?
