I made my return to torn recently, a little less than 2 months ago, and I get messages from people almost daily getting me as mission targets. Was told to post here to verify whether its a bug or just people accepting old missions.

 

Can post screenshots of people informing them I was their target if needed.

You remain active in the mission target pool for a little while after returning to activity, plus there's the case of you being assigned as a target several months ago and the player are just accepting the mission now (and the fact that sometimes players can just lie to you). You won't get removed as a target from old missions even if you have returned to activity.
