So my faction is currently in a war, the opposition is stronger so we are using a turtling tactic by flying to different countries and popping back to make a hit and run again.

The opposing leader is very unhappy about it and claims disrespect even though there were no terms banning the tactic. The opposing faction seems to be slightly hypocritical as they attack and hospitalise their own players to stop our chains

I didn’t realise this was a banned turtling tactic so

can I get your opinions?

-Disrespectful war malpractice?

-Or a widely used turtling tactic?

Chris5295 [974757]

Its war.

If there's no terms, theres no terms. f**k "disrespect", win your war.

If you wanna do even more, hosp your own idlers if they're still in torn. Make sure their revives are off, max your hosping merits/faction upgrades.

I still get hit every now and then by an idiot who got offended we turtled ages ago in what I think was a silver war......

All tactics are valid in war, as long as they're legal. My only response to people that think otherwise is get good nub.

If you are in real life fight against a bigger dude (or dudette) who throws a punch, is it disrespectful to duck? And would you care?

"No terms" means anything goes. Do whatever you need to do to win the war (or lose less badly) without going broke. If your opponent cries because you are making them work for their score, that's their concern, not yours. It's not the stronger faction's right to win the war; it's their responsibility to overcome any obstacles and not embarrass themselves.

Last war we did enemy used a lot of flight delays...one of us spent over 2 hours going to Mexico.   I told them they should have just driven heh.

They also used small explosive devices to not lose when attacked.

Both sides flew and lots of overseas.  Many chains and outside hits.

Honestly one of the more fun wars in a while.   I'd hate to see their war bill but great fun.

Why would anyone expect you to just sit still and get farmed?

What's next, using better gear is cheating?   Maybe limit hits on inactive players...sad when people who don't understand the game lead.

Chris5295 [974757]

Your opponent should be happy that you havent hired mercs to sit on him and wait for him to attack so they can interrupt him and waste their E.

That's the real dick move right there, lol.

Yesterday we won using that very tactic, I say let them cry,, also hire me to hosp your offliners so they don't get any chance

Don’t be fooled by other whiny faction leaders. Turtling is annoying to fight against but it’s 100% legit. Any real warring faction worth their respect turtle, it’s just how the game is set up. Any tactic that boosts net war score generation is a winning strategy, regardless of how much it annoys your opponent.

For the record, I hope you win your war and put that dumb faction in their place.

In my experience if they're complaining about your tactics, they're working, and anything they propose after the fact is designed to only benefit their strategy not yours.

Simik13l [3193350]

If he didn't specifically say he didn't want you to beforehand... Then he can piss right off! And besides are you guys terming or doing a real war? Because if you're doing a real one who cares about the terms? Fight to the death like real men!

My faction does this a lot. Flying, ipecac or wrong blood bags, Small Explosive Devices, attacking offlines with stricken, mercs, all of it is fair. We have even had stronger allies assist us using a strategy we call holding. They attack whoever is watching, but don't click leave, mug, or hospitalize, because the fight isn't "over" they cannot med out until the fight ends itself in 30 seconds, giving us time to hit whoever we need to, whether it be to turtle our own or score points. I have had people complain about it, only to start doing it themselves because they couldn't hit us, but we were fast enough to jump out, hit, and turtle again, so they had to turtle too.

If you want to see one that is "disrespectful", but still very legal, check out [This Post] that was written by one of my members about a strategy we used. They needed about 9 more respect to earn caches, and the last few hours of war, we used SEDs to put all of us in the hospital and quit playing the game for a few hours while the clock ran down. Needless to say, they did not get caches.

I find that if your opponent is complaining, you are on the right track. They complain because it is hard or time consuming. Good. Make them earn their rewards, if they don't have time to war, maybe they should reconsider enlisting.
