Hallo

We finshed our first RW in this faction yesterday. i been in a weekly warring faction before and never seen this before?

Losing side got better rewards and more bonus respect then winning facation, can that be right?

sending link to war : https://www.torn.com/war.php?step=rankreport&rankID=36633

and if this is how it should work, can you please explain me why and how?

it feels bad wining and seeing the losers get better rewards

Thanks for reading

I don't think there's a bug here but will let the admins/devs speak specifically to that.

With the wiki as a reference...

Looking at this war, Bleak sits at about 500k respect, and One Moment Please at 100k. While the wiki doesn't speak specifically to how bonus respect is calculated, I would assume it's based in part on a percentage of the faction's respect, then modified based on whether it's a win or loss among other factors. I could see a world where the difference in starting respect would cause this outcome when a faction with higher respect loses vs. one with lower.

Some other things factor into cache payouts. Number of members and overall participation are two heavy factors. Looking at the war I see that BA had some 15 more members than OMP, which could influence the disparity. Almost certain to have influenced it is the activity diff. BA had a much higher percentage of members who made hits in the war. I'd say OMP's dead weight very likely contributed to the disappointing payout.

thanks Cheesus :)

if i read the wiki correct winners get there base reward from all factors (member count, participation and so on) x2 and loser team gets x1

seams wild that a winning team gets worse rewards when its doubled. thats where i get confused xD

we went from bronze 2 to silver 1 in this war, are we reward from where we were or were we end up ?

again thanks for taking the time <3

Roman has pulled out the details for the war here. Among other things, I am afraid you just got unlucky. You did get the 2x modifier to the rewards that you get for winning the match. However you have fewer members in your faction compared to your opponents and your base rank is lower than your opponents (both granted a higher multiplier to your opponents). Your random variance was on the negative side and your opponent's was on the positive side (your rewards would have been better even if you had zero variance, let alone a positive variance).

Based on the analytics, there were about 30 wars in the past year where the loser received better rewards than winners (roughly 0.2% of the total wars fought). I did suggest a band-aid solution for this "issue", but it was deemed that the issue is rare enough that it does not need manual intervention.

So basically, we do not have any mechanics in place that ensures that the winner always gets better rewards, but over 99% of the time the winner should get the better rewards. If there's a major concern over this from the community (through the suggestions forums), then we can look into re-working the reward mechanics so that the winners always get the better rewards, but it would require a re-work of the whole rewards system.

Thanks!

hey cloudJumper

0,2% is not alot, but its still a decent amount when your looking at how many wars a fought.

i hope a rework is coming at some point, then you can do something about the termed wars too, so rank war is actully a rank! ;)

bad luck for us that the reward system is like it is i guess xD

Thank you for the explaintion :)
