Just what the title says. When me and my wife have read a book thats good i often give it to her to read as well. Being married in torn should allow for me to share books ive read for my wife/ husband to read as well and vice versa.

No, definitely not. With how rare books are (relatively speaking) and the fact they're one-time use, non-tradable makes this way too powerful

Critikat [3879769]

Way too narrow minded. But I get it. If you have been playing for 5 years you don't want someone who's been playing for 2 to ever catch up to you. Even if you ve been slacking.

The idea is solid because of the fact that they are rare. They don't have to be for the same duration. Or have the same impact. But it would also boost economy and give meaning to a useless feature in marriage. It can also be expanded to sharing more than just books such as clothes, weapons, tools etc.

It's a way for a good communicating couple to progress faster and not get stuck travelling back and forth for a year to be able to do anything or hoping to win the lottery.

We could even get joined accounts to invest together.

Yes things like that help the new players way more than older ones.

I promise you, that's not the impact this will have. What will actually end up happening is the players that have billions/trillions of disposable income will spend out the ass to pay for players to marry them and then share their books with them. Books, you may notice, do not have a value in the game, as in they don't contribute to networth because they cannot be bought or sold. This change would give them an indirect value, the value that top players are generally willing to pay to read it with you. Suddenly, those same top players are able to virtually infinitely read books, and scale their stats way beyond where they currently are, creating a much much bigger difference in stats between the average player and the top 100. Make no mistake, I would absolutely love to just keep reading Finders Keepers over and over and over and over again, but there's a very good reason I can't do that.

I did not say infinitely. Nor did i say the should have the same impact. And i didnt say you would be able to read a book twice. Or the second time it would last 5 days instead of 30. But a player that is 1 year old and has 2 books for example will now have read 4 making him able to catch up and when he finds the same book he will only be able to get 5 days extra out of it. Things dont have to be as simple as you think. Implementation allows for a plethora of options on how to help new users more than the older ones. You can also not allow sharing until a couple is married for 3 months or something in those lines.

This would simply have people selling themselves as a spouse for the purpose of using a book. This would effectively create a progress-by-prostitution black market that is likely to be highly abused. The perks for a spouse are already good enough imo - I don't need to worry about which books they have.

It's also a powerful enough perk that I can see it encouraging people to make multi-accounts. Sure they'd get banned, but let's not put that stress on the mod team lol.

Obviously you havent read the whole thing so i wont bother replying to blinkered comments. I'll simply laugh at the sentence "The perks for a spouse are already good...." ROFL

You've been here for 200 days, what more do you want handed to you?

You wrote 3 sentences with a game breaking suggestion and just keep replying with "I didn't say it'd be X." and  "I didn't say it'd be Y." So you obviously didn't think your idea through before posting it here if I have to read a whole thread to get an understanding of what you are trying to say.

You willingness to think of new ideas is appreciated, but this one just ain't it.
