Considerations:

A gulag element which works similar to jail, but without busts for the duration of the event for certain actions. Maybe become excluded from pot if gulagged?

Keep trades exempt to encourage player-player trading for a day? Or keep to increase item-item trading possibly naturally creating an item-based currency system?

sounds hard to implement,

rather than taking "all cash" by force, everyone could donate like in church then gets distributed.

or you could do it your self by hosting this pool collection then scam people.¯_(ツ)_/¯

So what you're proposing is instead of the game erasing cash from gambling/city purchases, its all diverted? Same with Russian Roulette and bazaar sales?

From the city PoV, it creates no real downside to purchasing, or player vs casino games. You buy an SE for 450m or however much they are, and you get a rebate. You lose a bil on blackjack, same again. It takes massive risk out of the equation.

For Player vs Player games (RR) or Player to Player sales, what happens? RR the winner gains nothing, the entire pot is just divided? Bazaar and market sales what happens, I get nothing for selling my donator pack, its just added to the pool? Or do you propose duping all cash?

For Player to Player, whatever, its a dumb idea but at least it doesn't effect anything financially except those for some reason opting in to not making money, unless yes you are proposing duping all cash, which would be crazy.

The city side, at least makes a degree of sense in how it would work, no one would "be out" money. That said, Cheds already terrified of inflation, and what you've proposed would create billions in extra currency added to the game. This is one of the most bizarre suggestions I've seen, and I've seen Booby suggest being able to make temporary weapons out of discs of piss.

In theory sounds like a funny idea, in practice it turns basically into a day most people will try to not move cash at all, doesn't sound like fun, more like an annoyance at best.

No no duplication, just an inability to make money for a day. I understand it will cause the economy to crash, prices will skyrocket, people won't want to sell, but people will still want to buy. People will prepare for it in advance and then the markets will enter recovery the next day. Big opportunity to lose out on the day yes, but before and after, when things are normal the opportunity to gain is potentially much better

Crown_of_Thorns [3232880]

Precisely it would crash the economy for a day, or at least massively alter it. Item-item trades would have to be the done thing. But thinking outside the box, the real opportunity would be the days leading up and days following when the market recovers from essentially a blank slate.

But losing some money could be incentivised with merits for being top 10% of contributors etc.

And possibly a minimum threshold of contribution to be eligible for final payout to keep some things moving a little

Be more specific. The game is currently a static grind barely anything changes, this stirs things up massively I'm not suggesting everyone's net worth is shared out, people can find their own workarounds it a change for sure, I think a lot of people here dislike change, just look at the backlash at the last markets update when bazaars became less visible. It works great, just removes some of the grind.

May as well play cookie clicker at this point

I get it that in your head it has some kind of sense but it will most likely act like shutting down the servers for a day, everyone will stock up on items they need for the duration of the event like always, no one will spend money and everything will go back to normal just like nothing happened

if you want to change things you can't do something abrupt that last 2 days, everyone will just skip it, so try to think of some changes in the long term that can shake things up (and long term I mean at least a couple of years)

it's a browser game at the end, for like 90% of players it is just a chore to do everyday (except for war days and some traders/ weapon sellers which take this more seriously) to keep the grind going until they get bored and quit or something is added
