Suggestion: Pause Bounties During War to Prevent Wasted Funds

Problem:
Right now, bounties can be placed on a player at any time — even if they later enter a ranked war. Because of the Early Discharge system, any attack from someone outside the opposing faction allows the war participant to immediately leave hospital at full health.

That means once a player enters war, bounty hits don’t keep them down — they actually allow them to discharge instantly.

The bigger frustration is this:
You can place a bounty on someone when they are not at war, fully expecting normal bounty mechanics to apply… and then they join a war afterward. At that point, your bounty effectively becomes useless. The money is spent, the risk is taken, but the mechanic no longer functions the way it did when you placed it.

💸 You didn’t make a bad decision.
⚖️ The rules just changed after the fact.

That feels less like strategy and more like a loss caused by system interaction.

Why This Is an Issue

  • Wasted investment: Bounties can be expensive. Once a target enters war, Early Discharge nullifies the intended impact.

  • Unintended benefit to the target: Outside bounty hits can actually help them get back into the fight faster.

  • No player control: The person placing the bounty has no control over whether the target joins a war later.

  • Discourages bounty use: Knowing this interaction exists makes players hesitant to use the bounty system at all.

Suggested Change

➡️ Automatically pause all bounties on a player while they are actively involved in a ranked war.

This could work in one of two ways:

  1. Prevent new bounties from being placed on war participants.

  2. Temporarily suspend existing bounties when a player enters war, resuming them when the war ends.

This preserves both systems:

  • Wars continue functioning with Early Discharge intact.

  • Bounties remain meaningful outside of wars.

  • Players are not punished retroactively for something outside their control.

Why This Improves Game Balance

✔️ Keeps bounty mechanics consistent and predictable
✔️ Prevents money sinks caused by unrelated system overlap
✔️ Maintains fairness between players
✔️ Reduces frustration without removing strategic depth

This suggestion doesn’t weaken war mechanics or remove bounties — it simply stops two systems from unintentionally canceling each other out.

Thanks for considering.
