uhh idk about improvement. but i can list series i liked
Crime and Punishment, legit teared up at the end, it's hard to describe but it found me in a very important time in life and changed up my outlook a bit. Most works by Dostoevsky have improved my life to some degree (even through just sheer enjoyability)
Zhuangzi (Self explanatory)
Ecclesiastes (Self explanatory)
Weslandia for giving me an early love of reading
The Collected Stories of Philip K. Dick 1: The Short Happy Life of the Brown Oxford for helping me rediscover my love of sci-fi and reading in general about four years ago
Sun and Steel by Mishima
but if anything I would say most of what I've read has improved my life by merit of me reading and enjoying it
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
The Old Man and the Sea
Extreme Ownership
The Dichotomy of Leadership
Leadership Strategy and Tactics
The Need to Lead
percy jackson the lightning thief - rick riordan
daun yang gugur tak pernah membenci angin - tere liye
maryamah karpov - andrea hirata
death god - lim jae won
On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous/Time Is a Mother - Ocean Voung
I want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki - Baek Se-hee
The Vegetarian - Han Kang
Roadside Picnic - Arkady & Boris Strugatsky
Bible
The poisonwood Bible also the bridge of birds
The Stranger, by Camus
dungeon crawler carl
The Tao Te Ching helped me to understand the flow of energy better.
DARE by Barry McDonagh gives practical advice for managing anxiety - I cannot overstate how much that helped me at a time I desperately needed it.
Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins has been valuable too. I’ve tried to micromanage everything for so long and need to let go. Ties in with the Tao.
The Bible, Little prince, Quo Vadis.
The Enemy by Charlie Higson
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
The 'Harry Potter' series, by Jacqueline Wilson
There are probably more but I've forgotten the authors because my brain is decaying.
The Republic by Plato.
Reading them as a child, Aesops fables taught me many lessons people as adults take for granted.
The hobbit is the book that made me go from liking fantasy to loving it. I immediately read the lord of the rings even though at the time it was a bit advanced for me, which boosted my reading comprehension.
Small gods, part of Terry Pratchetts discworld series, was the first truly funny book I read. It made me realize there was more to comedy than dirty or offensive jokes.
The count of Monte Cristo was the first book that made me interested in stories involving more political themes.
Princess bride is just....a really good book. I'm not sure how it changed me, but I know I wouldn't be the same without having read it.
Ihave dyslexia the first book searies I read by my slfe is house of night searies bypc cast and her Doughter Kristen cast .
I have since read vampire academy
Zodiac academy if your looking for an adult theme novel
I have attempted to read dragonlance
Mercedes Lakey - Magic's Pawn, Promise and Price. Those 3 books I read and it changed my life view on being myself and happily married to the person of my dreams. It gave me the courage to explore and dig deep into my emotions, exploring how my heart feels and loves. I've read many series since, but none have touched that deep into my personal self like those.
Doctor Sleep made me feel things for sure
The Midnight Library by Matt Heig for me.
Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment gave me a lot to think about. It's brilliant. The book that moved me most was On the Beach by Nevil Shute.
