I’ve been using your spreadsheet for Torn and I have to say – it’s absolutely brilliant! The way it calculates ROI for different stocks and even factors in the Firewalk virus production is a game-changer for planning investments. Incredible work!

While using it, I came up with a small "quality of life" suggestion regarding the Bank Interest calculations. Currently, most people manually edit the formula to switch between 0 merits (1.0) and 10 merits (1.5).

I thought it would be great to make this dynamic by adding a small VLOOKUP or a math multiplier based on a "Merits" cell.

The idea:

Users could simply type their current Bank Merits (0-10) into a cell (e.g., column C), and the formula would automatically adjust the profit.

The formula I’ve been using to test this:

=F4*(ROUND((MAX(API!H2:H6)*(1 + C6*0.05))*((INDIRECT(ADDRESS(ROW();COLUMN()+1;4)))/365);2)/100)

(Where C6 is the number of merits).

This way, as players progress and add more merits, they don't have to rebuild the formulas – the sheet grows with them!

Thanks again for providing such an amazing tool to the community. Keep up the great work!

The bank is really just there for comparison purposes.

If there’s enough interest, I could make it call the API to check the actual amount of merits and make it dynamic. However, I didn’t see a need for that when I created the sheet, since everyone should aim to get 10 merits as soon as possible anyway.

Fair point! You're absolutely right – since 10 merits is the ultimate goal for everyone anyway, keeping it simple makes sense. Those who really need to check other values can always tweak the formula themselves, just like I did. :)

Thanks again for the explanation and for maintaining such a great tool for the community!

Cola,

I love this spreadsheet and use it all the time. Thank you for maintaining it! One point that was recently brought to my attention: IIL (50% virus coding time reduced) has a pretty discernable value

  • Polymorphic: ~$.98m in 25 days = $39.2k/day
  • Tunneling: ~$2.6m in 40 days = $65k/day
  • Armored: ~$.9m in 60 days = $15k/day
  • Stealth ~$1.3m in 100 days = $13k/day
  • Firewalk: ~$21.75m in 120 days = $181.25k/day

It could be coded to use whichever virus is most valuable ATM or just Firewalk (as the clear current winner) but... -50% means (with no other reductions) 60 days saved per Firewalk or ~$10.875m every 60 days. Alternatively, if you already have the educations (which give -30% already) it adds (in essence) another 35% off (50% off the remaining 70%) for a total of 65% off (per the Wiki). 30% off (just the educations) would be 84 days, 65% off (education + IIL) is 42 days, so with educations IIL saves 42 days per Firewalk or $7.6125m every 42 days. In 365 days you'll code 6.083 Firewalks per year at the IIL-only rate, for about $66.16m/year gained from IIL-no-education. In 365 days you'll code about 8.7 at the IIL+education rate, for about the same $66.16m/year gained in IIL+education as well, so really just need a single IIL listing in the spreadsheet.

At its current price (an IIL BB is about $131m) that's a remarkable 50+% ROI, one of the absolute best in the game. Worth adding?

I'm having issues giving permission for the script to run. This is what I see:

The app is requesting access to sensitive info in your Google Account. Until the developer (xxx) verifies this app with Google, you shouldn't use it.

Continue only if you understand the risks and trust the developer (xxx).

Go to STOCK API (unsafe)

When I click "Go to STOCK API", a message saying "Something went wrong. Please try again." comes up and can't get past that.

Seems like my browser cached something wrong. Opened in an incognito browser and was able to give it the necessary permissions

Could you please add a line for a fully upgraded PI?

I added this line myself but of course it's not dynamic, and adding lines broke my last copy of the sheet

The API could check the cheapest fully upgraded PI on the selling market, and rental market

I have highlighted my row a shade of blue so it stands out:

When I first made this tool that option wasnt in the api, now it seems v2 has it, so I will consider adding it if theres enough interest.

Thanks. It would be good for comparison as PI is the next step after stocks, so it's good to see the APR differences, and decide when to start buying PIs instead of stock blocks

This will not work in the iOS app. You can still do it on mobile by making the copy and then opening it in your browser. Then request the desktop site.

I generated a limited key, pasted it in the API field, clicked the click button, the script ran, but its not showing me the stocks that are actually earn on the list. Under the "owned" column, it doesnt show the different stocks that I actually already own. It just shows "NO". What to do?
