Sorry for this weird post, my adhd-autism causes me to overshare, and sharing this insanity has been one of my few working coping mechanisms. I spend alot of time in the game/community so id figured i would share here as well.

So starting this at the beginning with myself.

Grew up in extreme poverty. Cockroach infested dwellings, crack/meth addicted parents, moving around alot. Combined with my adhd-autism, i didn't have many friends growing up, definitely no one that i would consider a close or best-friend.

It wasnt until i was 19 and out of school did i begin to build real relationships. I did end up becoming mutual best friends with "R". He was one of the most passionate and driven people i ever knew. We experienced many life events together, dozens of concerts, many good times, him getting married and me being his best man, both of us having our first kid.

Little bit of region info and pertinent family history of R.

Live in Native region midwest United States. R's parents (T and L) are pure native american, they grew up and originally lived on the absolute poorest reservation in the entire country. Besides that, the two of them never touched alcohol and drugs and were god fearing people, a rare thing in the native community. One of them was diagnosed as infertile so they never thought they could have kids, so they adopted two siblings, M and C. 5 years after that they had a miracle child of their very own, which was my best-friend R.

Fast forward, M is 19, develops a drug and drinking problem, ends up brutually murdering someone while high on drugs, pleads guilty and gets life in prison for manslaughter, imprisoned on the other side of the state.

R was 7 around that time, this lead him to be extremely anti drugs, wouldnt even touch weed.

This triggered them leaving the reservation, vowing to never live there again. They ended up moving to the city the prison was so they could visit and support M.

The sister C ends up with drug and drinking problems as well, and in 2012 has a daughter K. She immediately loses custody because of her known drug issues. The parents T and L end up getting custody, but even so R ends up taking care of her of quite frequently,  and over the years started to consider her his own daughter. 5 years later he has a son of his own and gets married, she starts living with them full time, couple years after that he started the offical adoption process for her.

Then in 2020 tragedy struck at the age of 35 at home, he went into cardiac arrest, got resuscitated, declared brain dead and wife and parents had to make devastating decision to pull the plug. Leaving behind his wife, 3 year old son, and K.

Two months prior the prick had even gotten his masters degree and took over as executive director of 8 native american doctors clinics in the state, we were all very proud. He was a huge advocate for native americans.

His wife couldnt keep custody of K since she hadnt been officially adopted yet (not that i think she would of under the circumstances) R's parents end up taking her in.

I vowed to stay in his wife's, son's, and parent's life. They are all like family to me.

FFW again a few years M ends up getting released from prison! Had his sentence commutated, all the friends and family were excited and hopeful for him. After all, while in prison he had great behavior, learned skills, taught others.

His adopted parents would visit him multiple times a month the entire time, and often times bring K with since she was just a toddler.

They all advocated for his release, his parents even bought a home they couldn't quite afford near where he would have to go for parole meets and such, the intention was for him to live with them for a few years, assist with the costs and get acclimated.  4 months in he marries a random chick and moves out, causing them to ultimately lose the house to foreclosure.

A year and a half ago he ended up having a baby too.

Now to get to the whole reason for this post, buckle up.

A few weeks ago, on a friday night, K got dropped off at M and his wifes house to babysit, and was supposed to be picked up by L Saturday morning. She shows up but K isnt there, only M's wife, who stated M dropped her off at home at 230am and hadnt been home since.

They ended up getting in contact with M and he states he dropped her off that night at the end of the block.

Everyone assumes she was off with friends, she is 14 and its the weekend, thought whe was a bit mad, she didnt want to babysit and she had had her cellphone taken away friday becuase she stayed home from school playing sick. Searching around to figure out what friend she was with.

As the day wore on still no sign of her, but they expect that she will get home by that night.

By sunday morning, they realized something was wrong, and called her in missing. They ask M questions trying to get more info, he gets defensive, trys to change the subject when she is brought up. End up storming out, gets hammered, nearly crashes into a house, gets into a altercation with the police and is arrested that night.

As the days pass, it becomes less and less likely that she is just out and about being a brat.

That thursday morning we finally hear from the police, has been found. Dead, her body dumped in a lake 75 miles north. Uncle M showed the police where he dumped her body.

He claims he passed out at some point and woke up to find her overdosed on his cocaine.

Mind you she had just turned 14 and was still in middleschool, she was a high acheiver and was no troubled child, none of us believe she would of stolen and took cocaine on her own.

Autopsy has been done, but none of us have yet to learn anything.

I was a pallbearer for my best friend, and i was a pallbearer for her, the pain i felt carrying her to the same spot i carried R was immense. Just typing this my eyes are filling with tears.

The church where her funeral was held overfilled with people, people even outside. The funeral procession was police escorted and was 2 miles long. R would of been jealous.

I cant say many of us are too suprised that it was M, even before the confirmation we all had a gut feeling it was him, but we didnt want to believe it.

Just feels like i lost another piece of my friend with how this has gone down. I know this whole situation would rip him apart if he was still around.

Ive known K since she was a baby, she was at my kids birthday parties, we went to the natove ceremonies she participated in, we were close too...

Sorry for the long storyjust t had to vent, i figured i would share.
