I'm trying to keep this short (and failing miserably). I've been thinking and that isn't normally good.
I'm not as active as I once was, and I'm out of touch with lots of things going on. But I have really enjoyed helping people and I've found I have a knack for coaching people, both personally and professionally. (That's honestly true, coaching my direct reports has been one of my greatest strengths in my career).
So here is the deal. Send me your questions by mail and I'll provide coaching and probably a unique perspective. If it will take me more than a few minutes to respond, then I probably will say I won't have time to figure it out and you should ask someone else. I'm not being harsh here, but I need to be realistic with expectations. I don't have a lot of free time. But I do want to help.
Instead of long detailed approaches and explanations, I'll probably just say "try this" or "ask yourself...." to give you a different perspective. I find this approach particularly helpful here as all of you are extremely capable.
I want to help more, but my time is limited. I figure this is a way in which I can help even if I'm not as active as I used to be.
I'm putting this out here with no expectation. My feelings won't be hurting no one reaches out. No pressure at all to message the old guy.
