So I get a lot of us make money by selling plushies and flowers etc...
But my question is who tf is buying them and why??
Is there some intense need for them at higher levels that I dont know about?

To answer your question there's a museum in-game that takes plushies for points, plushies and flowers are especially valuable during Museum Day, and because of the price spike during that traders like to buy it year round so they don't have to spend extra.
Yes the mysterious plushie flower underground market has raised my eyebrow aswell. They sell so fast, they sell in such high volume, must be some kind of behind the scenes shadow groups money laundering as if they are pieces of art switched around in real life museums for hidden money transfers. 🧐very suspicious there must be an investigation pronto.

The "level of abuse" is probably due to you posting this in the General Discussion, rather than somewhere like Questions & Answers (where it currently resides). Forum users generally tend to dislike newer players (especially considering you don't even have 50 days on the game) making forum posts as they tend to be extremely low quality and usually misplaced also. I would recommend reading through the different forums to figure out where different categories of posts go, otherwise you may make a similar mistake like you did here.
Most players are using points to do a daily energy refill, a daily nerve refill, and, for anyone chasing merits, often also a daily casino tokens refill(until you've got 250 of them done, anyway, which is 7500 points, total).
Plushies and flowers get exchanged at the museum for points, and they're the main way people get points.
Just recently(maybe a year ago), the cost of a refill was changed from 25 points to 30 points. I think this was done to help boost the price floor of points, and it seems to be working.
Torn is standing thanks to child labor, that's where all the plushies and flowers go. Torn sweatshop.
