My question is what do i do in the company so i make progress in there... Is there a way to make money for the firm and me?

Only the director needs to work on the company by buying upgrades and setting advertising fees and buying stock. You as an employee, do nothing but make sure your addiction from drug use doesn't go above what the director wants. Apart from that, sit and look pretty in your new found company.
Do you know what the typical limit is on addiction that company directors tolerate?
Depends on your starting effectiveness but generally 10% of your working stats effectiveness.
So if your 75 working stat effective your looking at 7 or 8 addiction before you need to rehab
A lot of directors ask for rehab at -10 company addiction which you can check in the employee section of the job page. This is different from the brain icon addiction % - if you're getting the brain icon your company addiction is probably too high.
It varies though so it's best to ask your director. Depending on company type and goals, they can be more or less strict.
