Underdog should never have been a thing, and would only encourage terming if implimented. Ideally we want something that poushes for more activity amd more drive to win.

Personally i would be looking at something that factors in group attacks, interference hits and retals as these show a faction was activaly warring but even that could be exploited but it would cost more time effort and money to game successfully

I like this, main reason being that "wars being fun" means different things to different people.

One of the posters showed examples of fun for them, a race to 10k score, no outsides and limited turtling was how they put it, for them that was fun, for me personally that sounds like exactly the opposite, a short period of time which two factions just whaling at each other in a sprint to a set score, not for me thanks.

That's why more options would be better, assuming both sides are on the same page, it gives factions that just want to make lots of hits in a short time the chance to do it, and it gives factions like ours that prefer a more "surgical approach" to have fun doing what we do.

Lies 🤣 They've got a ton of low war activity heavies & consistently fail against similar-statted Gold factions. I think we're fairly evenly matched tbh.

As long as there's a reward that can be shared, like the proceeds of a cache, terming likely is going to keep happening. Even if the loser gets nothing.

To be honest, I don't think this is as much of an issue as soon as the matchups are more even anyway. At the moment those who want to fight are frequently matched with factions where fighting would be near impossible. If they get fights where refusing terms won't lead to their immediate slaughter then the factions who want to fight will do so.

Even factions that are known for fighting, like NLA, Lithium, Midnight Plague and TRC, etc hold themselves back to Platinum through lower member counts to avoid having to deal with the bullshit matcups that you get in Diamond as a high activity but lower stat faction.

So did the devs just make every war a big Fuck up this week to encourage acceptance of the new system?   Cause our war is debatably winnable but I'm not fighting it.

Until peoples mind set changes from expecting everything as quickly as possible with minimal effort, wars will continue to be termed. Until peoples mind set changes there will not be a change made that will addresse the lack of participation most of torn actually requires.

Ive read through quiet a few pages of this thread and it looks like its the top end of factions complaining because they have members that dont want to participate in wars and put effort in. I see the excuse that its not profitable to fight a 2-3 day war, to this i say either stop coddling your members by supplying their every need or stop warring. Faction wars shouldnt be about turning a profit they should be for bragging rights, but it seems the only reason people can find to play this game seems to be chasing digital dollars.

It does get expensive, I'm not gonna lie. We spent years getting Stompers into a position where we didn't rely solely on RWs for income. RWs could get more expensive under this new system until they address payouts/affordability.

I honestly wish rewards could be tied to effort expended. You want to term? That's fine, but rewards will be less than if you fought. If there were a value assigned to E spent, temps, drugs & med supplies used, etc, rewards could be assigned accordingly. The winners share could cover those costs plus a little bit, and the losers share could cover most of theirs. Then there wouldn't be as much incentive to go for max rewards for minimum effort.

RW is a zero sum game in which a player directly competes against their factionmates.  Winning each battle s contingent on having a fast PC, fast internet and clicking "attack" faster than your factionmates,   It's not a skill issue becasue there is zero skill in sitting in hospital, zero skill in clicking "attack"; I concur that there is a skill in stealing your faction mates' kills

This kind of understanding of what RW is is the direct outcome of so many massively unbalanced matches IMO. If you get close tough matches you can't afford to think of it as a zero-sum game competing against your faction mates, because if you don't work together you aren't going to win.

JL0ve [3680590]

If you think it's a zero sum game with you competing to steal kills from your faction mates then that's either a "you" issue, a culture issue in your faction, or you're doing wars in a way that encourages this.

Maybe think about going and guesting elsewhere for wars to get some different experiences under your belt?
