    The shortcuts should work on the upkeep fees in this case. So entering half here should have corrected to 4,406,250 which should have then corrected it to 100,000 (because you only have 100k on hand). I will ask Alexander to …

Hi Torn Team,

 

When you use the special value 'half' in a money field, it checks your current balance first. If that is lower than the total cost, it will use half of your cash rather than half of the cost, even if you can afford half.

 

For example, upkeep is 700k. You have 400k cash on hand. Typing in half gives the value 200k instead of 350k, which you could afford. Expected behaviour would be to use half of cost (350k) if affordable, else the max you can afford, rather than half of balance.

 

This feels like a bug rather than an intentional feature, but apologies if this is not that case.

Wouldn't that suggest that if I carried, for example, 20mil and typed 'half' into a 700k upkeep field, it should show 700k instead of 350k? It seems contextually inconsistent.

Does it not show 700k when you do that? (am flying right now and don't have any upkeep to pay so cannot do it) - I thought it would try to do half of your carried, then lower it to the 700k as you cannot overpay upkeep.

 

If it does two different things (uses half of your carried money if that is lower, or half of the upkeep cost if that is lower), then yes that looks like there is an inconsistency that needs sorting

Did some tests.

 

If you have enough carried money for the 1/2 (or whatever amount) of the outstanding fees, it will base it on the upkeep.

If you do NOT have enough money, it bases it on your carried cash - so yes, is inconsistent.
