Disclaimer I am new. Is it normal for Traders to lowball and then when get called out on it to threatened to send you to the hospital? I just simply mentioned that he was a million less than a previous offer, and that I was shopping and seeing what I could get and he got really butt hurt. Instead of saying he couldn't match it and just carry on smartly like a normal human being he went completely berserk I'm just wondering if that's normal.

You're always better off selling on bazaar and registering to have yours listed on the bazaar script. Otherwise, traders will pay whatever amount in order to make a profit. Also keep in mind that some things sell like shit so they pay even less since it's effectively a risk.

Good traders don't typically hosp people unless you're really being a dick so either stop being an asshole or find a different trader and see if they have a similar reaction. If they do, it's not the trader, but rather you.

There are a few untrustworthy scammers, it sounds like you may have run into StripMcDip.

Try looking in the Trading Post forum for trustworthy friendly traders, there are plenty of them that pays fair prices for stuff.

Threatening players who don’t like your prices is bad for business.

Prices for items are based on a few things, but yes typically if you’re selling to a trader, unless they expect the market to inflate quickly (like for an event) then you’ll be selling to them below market value.

A lot of traders sell on the item market so they want to account for the market fee. If the item is a high risk mug item (like stacks of Xanax or Edvd’s) then they will also charge a “mug tax” to protect against potential loss.

None of that is meant to offend the seller, you just have to understand that your safe sell to them is worth the slightly less payment if it means you don’t have to deal with sitting in a stack of items for days and then risking a mug.
