The Golden AK-47 has long been one of the most prestigious and desirable weapons in Torn. Historically, it has commanded some of the highest values in the game and remains an iconic collector's item.
Since the introduction of Rank Warring weapons, many yellow-rarity weapons have seen substantial value declines. The Golden AK-47 has not been immune to this, with market values falling by approximately $10 billion from previous highs.
Despite this, it still maintains a market value of around $25 billion, making it one of the most expensive and sought-after weapons in Torn.
Unlike many other weapons, the Golden AK-47 also has an extremely limited acquisition route. New examples can only enter the game through the UAE, further reinforcing its exclusivity and scarcity.
For these reasons, I believe the Golden AK-47 would be more appropriately classified as a red-rarity weapon. This is not solely about market value, but rather a combination of factors:
-
Exceptional market value (approximately $25 billion).
-
Extremely limited supply.
-
Exclusive acquisition through the UAE.
-
Historical significance within Torn.
-
Continued status as one of the game's premier collector weapons.
Any additional perks, stat adjustments, or balancing considerations should remain entirely at the developers' discretion. The primary purpose of this suggestion is to ensure the weapon's rarity classification better reflects its true standing within the game's economy and item hierarchy.
As Torn continues to introduce new end-game weapons and rewards, maintaining a rarity system that accurately represents prestige, scarcity, and desirability becomes increasingly important. The Golden AK-47 stands out as a strong candidate for red-rarity status and deserves consideration accordingly.
I welcome feedback from collectors, traders, and long-term players on whether the Golden AK-47's rarity classification should better reflect its unique position within the game.
