Is blackmailing allowed?

Say i had knowledge of rulebreaking (purely hypothetical) and i dmed the player telling them to pay me X or ill report them. Would this be allowed? Or would it count as abetting? What if i got them to pay me, then i reported anyway? If what i got paid wasnt generated by the rulebreaking, would that still be allowed?

If you didn't report at as soon as you learnt of the rule break, it would be abetting.

The least risking way to go about this would be to report them immediately, then threatening to blackmail them, despite already reporting it and hope they cough up between the report and the fedding. But I'd still say you're playing a risky game.

Standard blackmail, as long as it stays within Torn, is fair game.

Ik by saying this ima get a bunch of haters lol, but if i blackmail over discord torn has no way of finding out. This is all purely hypothetical, i just wanted to know if i find some rich boi in future who im gonna report anyway, if i can get a few bill out of it :D

I'm pretty sure if you have knowledge, regardless, you run the risk of getting fedded.

You shouldn't threaten to break a rule (abetting or enticement, in this case) regardless of whether you follow through or not. It makes staff's job harder as they can't be certain whether you were serious or not, so you could face consequences even if you intended to report after they paid.

Regardless though you shouldn't be looking to benefit off of rulebreaking. I'm not sure why you think that could be okay. They're rules for usage of the site, not fictional city laws to roleplay off of...

Yes i know, im not breaking any rules. Was just a random thought i had, since most of these fedded players have billions and arent gonna use them anyway, might as well let a noobie like me have them :D

Seriously though, i wouldnt blackmail probably, since it costs the fedded guy 10s to screenshot my convo and be like 'yo staff heres one more for ya'
