There is a benefit to flight delays; gives an excuse to have a cigarette in the parking garage. The hum of the airport puts me in a trance as I think of the luck I’ve had up to this point. And the fear of my future within the city.
I was awaiting Brahn's flight, they're new to the city and eager to make an impact. Like everyone else I suppose. Wasn’t about to shatter his ignorance with the fact that there are so many deep rooted families that the chances anyone would notice ‘em are next to zero. But I’ll notice him, I’ll witness his greatness. Taking a glance at my wrist watch I twist up the filter-less cigarette and toss it as I walk through the doors of the terminal. From a distance I see that happy mug turn into a goofy smile when I fall into his sight line. Big man nearly takes out three bystanders as he barrels towards me; he is a hugger so I try to match the impact to not be driven through by it.
