The Rules

 

In this expanded 64 driver tournament we have some new rules to share. I mean, we do it exactly as last summer! :D

Drivers will earn four points for first, three points for second, two points for third, one point for fourth. All races are 20 laps. Only the top four drivers in each group go through to the quarter-finals. 

 

If two drivers end on the same number of points, we use total race wins as the deciding factor. If further tiebreak criteria are required, it goes down to most second places, most podiums, followed by average position over all six races. We've never had a situation where two drivers were equal on all criteria, but should this happen, we will make them kiss until one of them taps out a race-off will be run at a time that is mutually convenient for both drivers prior to the quarter-final, with the race taking place at Uptown over 20 laps and ending no later than 5pm TCT the next day.

 

Players who crash out in a race are given eighth position. If more than one driver crashes, the drivers will be ranked in reverse order in which they crashed, with the driver lasting the longest gaining the highest final position. Players who miss a group stage race are given a placement of 10th. Players who miss two group stage races will also be deducted one point from their total. Players who miss three group stage races are disqualified from the tournament.
