Respect bug

I am in a war and I previously attacked someone on the first chain hit and got 4.51 respect.

I have just attacked them again on the first chain hit but this time only got 3.37 respect.

I did spend some army points on strength between these attacks but surely that can’t affect the respect gain that much?

On your faction page what did it say the fair-fight modifier was for the two attacks?

Don't know exactly (im leader of the faction) but the fair fight doesn't seem correct for the lower number respect. 

Just seems like fair fight is being calculated incorrectly 

I have just tried to attack a non war target that consistently gives me 4.35 respect and yet they have given me 3.90 this time. 
the fair fight says 2.69 but as they are about 500k stats there is no way that this is correct. 

Interestingly, a similar bug (discrepancy in respect earnings) was reported in another bug report.  I'm not sure if it's related, but maybe it's related.  As a side note, you also kind of stated your battle stats as well. :b

How much is some army points, if you used enough it could drastically change your r gains 

Also was it just your first chain hit in an already ongoing chain or the first hit in a faction chain that wasn't started at all as the % multiplier for chain hits also 

Each attack on the same person was the first hit to start off a chain so there was no multiplier for any of the attacks. 

I used 48 army points but the gains were quite small in relation to my overall stats. 

it seems to have gone back to normal now

Adding context from DMs - it has gone back to normal after spending some E in the gym.

Possible issue with the battle stat score being incorrectly updated when training from non-gym sources?

(in OP's case, army strength special)
