Failed Duke Mission - An Honourary Degree

Device: samsung SM-S942B Android: 16 App version: 2.3.32

I picked up the Duke mission 'An Honourary Degree' today but seem to have failed it for using a flamethrower.

The contract said 'no guns' but I don't believe flamethrowers are guns. Please can I have clarification whether this is correct.

Is the flamethrower classed as a gun due to it being a 'Heavy artillery weapon'?

I also used Metal Nunchakus in the attack.

Edit: I have just read on the Visitor Centre that there was changed made in 2022: Patch list #243: 14/06/2022

"Fixed Flamethrower being allowed to complete a Mission when requested to not use any guns".

That fix was to stop the ability to use the flamethrower, not give it.

I had this same question once, but upon looking up the definition of a gun you will see that a flamethrower is indeed a type of gun.
