Happy jumps are incredibly efficient in terms of saving time in the early game.

For the purposes of this guide:

Early game: when happy jumps are efficient

Late game: when your energy is best spent on gaining money instead of going to the gym

Mid game:  the many years in between those two

At half a million stats, I'd recommend max happy jumps if you can pull them off.  You're almost out of the early game, where you can just do basic training and double your stats in just over a week (up to 50m / stat). Then it's basic training for as long as you can stand :)

If you are in the same boat as the vast majority of players, no. Just 3 xans a day and refill unit you have several billion in each stat

3 Xans, autocorrect got ya!

If you edit it to correct, lmk so my comment doesn't look stupid.

While this mythical point of "where you’ve stopped using the gym because taking bounties for SEs gets you more stats" exists in theory, it doesn't exist in practice, for two reasons.

  1. there's not enough bounties/merc work/other money earning opportunities to spend all energy every day 7 days a week on this and nothing else. You'd be going down to $1 bounties if you wanted to do that, and that's not going to give better gains per 25e for anyone.
  2. almost no one in the game is SEing four stats. There's a couple of megazoid dinosaurs that are at this point because they hit SE cap on 3 of them and have nothing better to do with their vast hoards of wealth, but it's not realistic for 99.9999999% of the game. So you'll always have at least ONE stat (for most people 2-3) that are within the range where gym training them is giving more gains than taking bounties/whatever would for that stat unless the bounty is very high. So for most of us we'll be using SEs on one or two stats while training two or three when we can't make enough income from the 25e to cover the SE for the third or when we feel like our low stats need some love even though we could be boosting the SE stat instead.

I basically agree - nobody’s got the time and hustle for 100% active money gain from their E.

But just to nit pick:

1. The high-stat tradeoff is around 500k, meaning you can get ahead by selling bulk escapes. Or reviving for a xan. It’s not always about attacking, you know. (Please don’t attack me. I already saw that joke.)

2. I’m not sure spending gym on your 4th stat is ever optimal. Obviously people will do it, but I’m going to go ahead and claim that anyone you’re afraid of at SE cap on three stats will not be less scary if you train your dump stat in the gym for ten years.

1. Even revivers I know aren't getting through all their e 24/7 on paid revives. They might manage that on a weekend with wars or during an event, but during the week, no chance. And everyone I know who has sold escapes via the escape book and therefore tried to put together a whole month worth of escapes has failed to fill their e with it 24/7 as well.

2. Yeah I'm not 100% convinced of that but I do think there's a potential argument for it. For most people the first three stats they push are one defensive and two offensive. The people you are fighting who have 2 stats SEed will potentially be able to handle your defensive stat with their corresponding offensive stat if your overalls are similar or if they catch you when they have a corresponding offensive needle going and you don't have the defensive needle on.

So then if they are annoyingly much bigger than you in their defensive stat, your offensive stats aren't gonna help you.

BUT if you have a second defensive stat trained past like 15b or so, which is quite achievable after a few years of that being the only stat you're training in the gym, a lot of the people who have SEed only two stats will need a needle for that as well. That means they'd need to have rolled something in in order to beat you, and suddenly there's a whole range of situations where that's unlikely to have happened. I think once you're in the top 100 you're talking about quite a small number of potential opponents you are concerned about at all, and if you can reduce it even further to only those people who have SEed both offensive stats to the same kind of level as your defensive ones, and/or who have two needles running, that probably reduces your pool of opponents more than doubling a 10 trillion top stat a bunch more times.

I don't think that I personally am ever going to get to the point of having to wonder about this in more detail than this vague hypothetical though.
