No, I don’t think that’s really it exactly.
It’s more nuanced. Ched invented Torn when he was 15. He has no COO experience and never hired one, so he’s got huge operational blind spots. bogie is a likeable sort when he’s not staff, so he got hired as the CM. But having players as admins creates an inherent conflict of interest, so bogie has been placed in a position where he can’t help but rankle the community. There will always be suspicions of bias and unfairness as long as he has a player account.
This, along with some poor staff decision making along the way, has created a scenario where the person in the position responsible for maintaining positive community engagement manifestly dislikes the community he manages. He’s openly abandoned the fedded archives thread and goes on unchecked public rants about the players. And he’s the leader, so you can imagine the impact on his team.
The reason homophobes get booted faster than almost anyone else is less political and more exasperation. Overt homophobia is a bit more prevalent these days than, say, overt racism. Being homophobic is still a way to virtue signal masculinity in the minds of homophobes. So every time there’s a Pride month, these fuckers come out of the woodwork. I think the slightly unhinged (for reasons above) staff is just so fucking over it that their patience threshold is lower for this than other things. In other words, the ‘homophobic community’ has raised the ire of an admin staff who are free to do almost whatever they want.

Torn staff definitely get it wrong quite often but they also get it right pretty often too so maybe, just maybe, you're the inconsistent, biased, worthless **** cockwomble.

This would be considered fine in the eyes of like 99% of people, yes. The post is aimed at the kind of person that will show up and complain about pride, do the "well what about straight pride" thing, start a debate where there really doesn't need to be one, or something similar.

I will point out I have noticed a negative trend of people trying to be anything other than straight. Pulling out things like sapiosexual or rather than heterosexual as though its now a tainted sexuality.
I know the example given doesnt replace hetrosexuality, but it is disheartening to see the reverse bigotry (I.E the jokes aimed at white, male, heterosexual, etc) that has a part to play in radicalising the subjects of this post, and the cringe attempts by people who fit into that arcing demographic (it includes women too) to be anything else, or layering themselves in accolades and allyships so as to not be seen as the enemy.
Its sad also because part of why I fall into the "I dont care" camp is the toxicity that all that stuff breeds. I dont want to be misunderstood as dismissing the gains in human rights and representation, but I also dont care for the performative and self-hating culture that is feeding the trolls and burning good will amongst the moderate majority.
