agreed making books reusable doesn't particularly work, but also at the same time acquiring books could do to be a bit easier. without subscriber status like my broke ass, you're limited to just missions (I think?) it would be nice …

if not the meta would be to just spam books, 12 per year, and they wouldnt be ‘special’ anymore, just one more booster for those who have it

I’d like to use the black egg. To see how much money it would give me. But seeing other peoples results certainly makes me question the worth. If I find another one next year, i’ll use it.
You can also find them on the city map, think its rarer then finding a SE though
Still, if we dont pay ched a sub we basically dont get any books
im 1y+ in and still havemt been able to buy one in the shop, mainly
bc its only shown up once (and was a dex gains book, which is basically useless for me)
17+ years and ive only got 8 books, so i get the frustration on the slow acquisition. If you want a higher chance of getting the books then become a subscriber, its still a random chance that you get one but its the highest chance.
As a sub I will say its faster than non-sub but very slow. I get one roughly every 4-6months.
Even if its like 25% chance, that still averages out to 3 books year, which is 1/4 of your total time being spent using a book. Right now im at 0%. When i get one, itll probably be at around 3-4% of my time

My first book, i currently have 25 books. So subscriber is definently worth it for getting books.
I have 35... clearly you aren't trying hard enough.
Most torn citizens struggle to read. The books that take a month to read contain mostly pictures and a few words per page
