Is the metal detector worth buying for 1.5+ mil? Im only level 6 but wondered if you find rare things with it that will make some money

meh get in a real faction then you can loan one from their armory if they stock for those kinds of things
once you get past the search for cash stage you won't need it anymore
According to the Torn Wiki every player with Level 30 and above crime skill in Search For Cash will get an opportunity to find it as a unique when doing the Search The Junkyard crime. It is used in Search The Beach crime afaik. I didn't have to buy mine. Found it in time for the intended crime.
In any case, you could buy it if the beach is unlocked for you but you haven't yet found yours. Once you find yours in the junkyard, just sell it, make your money back.

probably not. Mine dropped from the junkyard. Just gotta be persistent with search for cash.
