Greetings, fellow racers! This autumn, I plan to organize a new free tournament using a new format - I’ve tried to combine racing, a board game, and the Elimination event we’ll be facing in September. The prize awarded to the winner is expected to range from 10 to 245 million. It will all depend on luck, the players' actions, and race attendance.

Tournament registration will take place on Mondays, starting ftom August 3rd. The top 10-18 finishers in the Class A "S.T.O. Leaderboard Racing" events — with nine such races scheduled before the tournament begins — will qualify to participate. This qualification is non-binding; you may decline if you do not wish to compete or are unable to do so. After the ninth race, additional participants will be selected from among those who finished closest to the top ten in the qualifying races. If you have reached Class A, you may also post a comment in this thread expressing your interest in the tournament; a selection will be made from all interested players using an RNG.

The following drivers have already guaranteed their participation:

CODEX

The "7 Rings of Hell" tournament (hereinafter referred to as 7RoH or Tournament) is a racing-based mini-game within the browser-based game Torn City. Participation in the Tournament is free. Any costs associated with hosting the Tournament are covered by the organizer using their own funds or voluntary donations; 7RoH does not serve as a source of income for the organizer.

All cash prizes and transactions are conducted in the in-game currency - Torn City Dollars.

Participation in 7RoH is voluntary. Entry is open to all players who have qualified, as well as those who have received a special invitation. The maximum number of participants is 94.

An open Class A is a requirement, as every race will be restricted to Class A cars. All races will be password-protected; the password and other necessary information will be sent to participants no later than 10 hours before the race begins. In-game mail will be used for this communication.

The Tournament consists of seven 100-lap races; the first is scheduled for October 2, and the final one for October 23. Races will take place on various tracks on Mondays and Fridays during this period, starting at 10:00 TCT. Participants are permitted to use any upgrades for their cars.

The races must be available in the "Custom races" section no later than 10 hours before the start.

Following each race, some participants will be eliminated from the Tournament in accordance with these rules and the results. All players eliminated from 7RoH will receive a notification and a consolation prize; the value of the prize will depend on the stage at which the player was eliminated, the number of races participated in and missed, and the number of points earned.

The winner of 7RoH is the player who wins the final race.

By participating in 7RoH, players confirm that they have read and agreed to the stated rules.

Before the Tournament begins, all qualified players are distributed among 10 teams based on their RS. This distribution is carried out by the organizer. The primary goal of this process is to create teams of equal strength.
The maximum number of participants per team is 9 players.

The teams are considered to be arranged sequentially according to a circular numbering system - that is, Team №1 follows the Team №10. Teams located next to each other in such a circular arrangement are considered neighboring teams.

If unregistered players participate in the race, their results are disregarded; their starting and finishing positions are ignored, and the positions of players who started and finished after them are shifted up by one. This is discouraged, as it would require manually entering corrections into the automated results submission system. However, negotiations are possible, and such a persistent player could be included in the Tournament at the organizer's decision.

Each team has its own bank - a sum that increases with every race. The size of the bank depends on the team members' results and other factors. By the end of the Tournament, the banks of different teams may vary drastically.

The Tournament winner receives the grand prize: their team's entire bank. Whether they share their winnings with other team members or keep it all for themselves is not regulated by these rules.

Houkeraid [2817301]

1.Economic system

1.1. In every race players earn points. The maximum number of points depends on the total number of active (not eliminated) drivers in the current stage of Tournament. Drivers involved in an accident receive 1 point. Drivers who miss the race do not earn any points.

Example: 91 racers were scheduled to participate in the race. Only 85 took part; two of them crashed and did not finish. In this case, the winner receives 91 points, second place gets 90, and so on; the last finisher (p83) receives 9 points, while drivers who crashed (p84-85) receive 1 point each; absent drivers recieve nothing.

1.2. The points earned by all team members are summed up. The team with the highest total score wins the race. In the event of a tie, the deciding factor is the highest individual placing achieved by any member of the respective teams.

1.3. All points earned by a team are converted into a monetary value and added to the team's bank after each race, thereby forming the final winnings. Each team has its own bank. The Steward is not affiliated with any team and maintains a separate bank.

1.4. Points are converted into money using the formula B = P * k, where P is the total points scored by the team in a race and k is the race coefficient. The coefficient increases for each race:

Race 1: k = $25,000
Race 2: k = $30,000
Race 3: k = $40,000
Race 4: k = $50,000
Race 5: k = $65,000
Race 6: k = $80,000
Race 7: k = $100,000

2. Elimination system

2.1. After each race, the participants who finished last within their respective teams based on points scored in the current race are eliminated from the Tournament.

2.1.1. The team finishing last in the race loses two players at once.

2.1.2. The team that wins the race secures immunity from last place elimination for its drivers as long as all 10 teams remain in the Tournament. Once any team is destroyed (leaves 7RoH), this rule ceases to apply starting with the next race. The winning team can still lose players due to the Champion Decision (see § 3.1.) or effects affecting the team or a player.

2.2. Players are eliminated based on the points scored in current stage. In the event of a tie (e.g., due to missing a race or a double crash), the deciding factor is the total points accumulated in previous races, followed by RS value.

2.3. No more than three players from a single team may be eliminated in a single round. If, according to the rules, more than three players from one team are required to leave the tournament, the three players with the lowest rankings within that team for the round are eliminated, while the remaining players are redistributed among the other teams (see § 4).

3. Champion Decision

3.1. The racer who wins the current stage (except for the final race) is declared the Champion of the race (hereinafter - the Champion). This player may perform one of the post-race actions.

3.1.1. Silence - take no action. This is the default option if, 24 hours after the race concludes, the Champion does not announce their decision via chat, in-game mail with organizer, or the official tournament forum.

3.1.2. Protection – The Champion can save any one Tournament participant eliminated in this round from elimination. If possible, the player returns to the same team from which they were excluded. Otherwise, they are reinstated in the Tournament in accordance with rule § 4.

3.1.3. Betrayal – the Champion may switch to any active (not destroyed) team of their choice that has an open slot, taking half of their own team's bank with them. This action is not available to NPCs.

3.1.4 Sacrifice - forces any player to leave the Tournament (this action was intended as a way to eliminate an inactive player while also gaining a bonus). This action cannot be performed on NPCs. This is a final decision, and no effects protect against it. In this case:

3.1.4.1. if the "sacrificed" racer's team still has remaining players, that team is awarded bonus points in the next race equal to the points for first place;

3.1.4.2. if the "sacrificed" player is the last one on the team, the team is eliminated and half of its money is transferred to the Champion's team bank.

3.1.5. A bird in the hand - allows the Champion to immediately claim the remaining bank of one of the destroyed teams (if any exist) of their choice; the Champion then leaves the Tournament. This action is not available to NPCs.

4. Player redistribution system

Following certain events (such as the destruction of a team or mass elimination), a situation may arise where one or more teams lose more than three players simultaneously. According to the rules, no more than three players from a team can be eliminated in a single round. Once the three players to be eliminated from the team have been determined (those who scored the fewest points in the current round), the remaining players return to the Tournament based on a redistribution system. Players return to the teams with the fewest members, with priority given to teams with the smallest bank. Players are redistributed in order based on their overall points accumulated across all previous rounds, ensuring that the most successful players join the team with the larger bank.

Houkeraid [2817301]

5. NPC

5.1. Throughout the Tournament, NPCs join the racers at various stages. In the new round, they (except Steward, who competes independently) once again choose a team to join - one that meets their requirements. A team can have no more than one NPC at a time. The points they scored in the race count towards their team's total. Each of them has their own bank. NPCs cannot be eliminated from the Tournament by any means. If they win a race, Champion's Decisions are available to them as well. They participate in the final race on equal terms with the other racers and have a chance to win the grand prize.

5.2. Steward. The race organizer, сompetes separately from other participants. Adds money to their bank based on the points scored in each race according to the general rules.

6. Events and special effects

In each round, random events, as well as team and individual effects, are in effect before and after the start.

6.1. Bad Omen. The effect can be activated only once per Tournament. A racer who finishes the first race in 13th place saddles their team with the "Bad Omen" effect. If the Steward finishes in 13th place, the effect does not activate; the next attempt to do so under the same rules will take place in the following round. A team affected by Bad Omen loses one additional player at the end of the round. If the effect is not removed, it passes to the next team (the one with the next sequential number) in the following round, and so on, until a team holding the effect wins a race. A team that wins a race while under this effect removes it, and all the team's points for that round are doubled.

6.2. Mob Mentality. If all active (non-eliminated) drivers participated in the race (full attendance), the race coefficient increases by 10%.

6.3. Duel. The pair of racers who finished the previous race with the smallest time margin (results rounded to .00), compete against each other. If there are several such pairs, the one that took the higher position is selected. The Steward and other NPCs do not participate in the duel. The loser (the player who finishes in the lower position) is eliminated from the Tournament. The winner secures immunity from elimination (valid for one use, applies automatically and can be utilized in any subsequent round). If a winner cannot be determined (both missed the race or were involved in a crash), the event is carried over to the next race with new player selection.

6.4. War. TBA

6.5. Poker. Teams receive a bonus based on the participants' finishing positions and attendance. If multiple hands are possible, the strongest one (the one that brings in more money) is selected.

6.5.1. Full House. If all active (non-eliminated) team racers participated in the race (full team attendance), this team is adding bonus $5,000,000 to its bank.

6.5.2. Three of a Kind. If any three players from a team finish in consecutive positions, this team is adding bonus $10,000,000 to its bank.

6.5.3. Four of a Kind. If any four players from a team finish in consecutive positions, this team is adding bonus $25,000,000 to its bank.

6.5.4. Royal Flush. If any five players from a team finish in consecutive positions, this team is adding bonus $50,000,000 to its bank and all players on that team are protected from elimination in this round.

7. Order of actions

7.1. Before the race, any applicable team and individual effects (§ 6.1 and bonus from § 3.1.4) are applied, and - if necessary - participants for the Duel event are determined based on the results of the previous race.
7.2. TBA.
7.3. The race begins.
7.4. After the race ends, the total points scored by the players are calculated, and bonuses from § 6.2 and § 6.5 are added if it is active.
7.5. The points scored by the players of the teams are summed up, and the ranking of the teams is determined. If the winning team had the active "Bad Omen" effect, their total score is doubled, and the effect is removed from the game permanently.
7.6. Points are converted into money (rule § 1.4.) Bonuses from rule § 6.5. are added if active. Penalties apply due to the TBA.
7.7. Money earned by teams during the round is added to the team's total bank.
7.8. Players who lost the duel (§ 6.3.) and players who finished last within their teams (in accordance with § 2.1.) are eliminated.
7.9. TBA.
7.10. Players from eliminated teams are redistributed among the other teams in accordance with rule § 4.
7.11. The Champion's Decision is applied.

This is not a complete Codex. This isn't even half of the Codex. You may never even find out about some of the rules, and if you do discover them, you might wish you hadn't. The hidden rules will be revealed gradually after the tournament begins, so as not to spoil the fun.

Lolbits [2275419]

this is hell on my eyes what is wrong with you, also why did you just spam the fuckass ai lookin image u made over and over again.

StumpyDog [2252131]

Like all my tournaments, this one is completely free for participants. I do not collect any entry fees — I try to avoid paid tournaments myself and make no profit from the ones I organize. It’s nothing but expenses on my end :) I won't turn down sponsorship, but I’m not asking for it either; everything is strictly voluntary.      -    Kudos for that, taking a cut of the prize monthly for arranging a few races is a big no no for me.

Houkeraid [2817301]

Revised rules have been added; you can review them above in the "Codex" section.

The top ten drivers from the first qualifying race held at the Docks track (S.T.O. Racing 2026-08-02: Rogue, Alza, Houkeraid, Lamstraal, Makai, fie313, JesusSmiff, Sirhijinx, KillForFood, Redkozak, Gazeboo) can count on a spot in the tournament — provided, of course, that they intend to participate; this result imposes no obligation to do so.

The next qualifying race will take place on Monday, August 10, at the Commerce track at 10:00 TCT. Anyone interested is welcome!

Mentions: 7 Rings of Hell: Registration

Houkeraid [2817301]

Following the race at the Commerce track (S.T.O. Racing 2026-08-10), the top 10 finishers (or rather 12, including the winners of the previous race) secured their spots in the 7RoH tournament:
(1) Bobogoobo, (2) Houkeraid*, (3) Cardinalium, (4) poopypants81, (5) bnear, (6) Rogue*, (7) TheBoze, (8) Don_lifejacket, (9) Harry_Dresden, (10) -Bald-Ronin- [you're in! Congratulations!], (11) Curti, (12) The_Prole. All the drivers are highly experienced and skilled!

*have already qualified

Likewise, the following players who finished in the top 15 can also be certain of qualifying through the additional selection process: Ben_Hagen (12), MrXL (13), Demon (14), SuperDuper (15).

As the tournament approaches, all qualified players will receive a message from me and will be able to confirm their participation or decline.

There are 7 races left for qualification. Next - Monday, August 17, Two Islans track.

Don't forget — you can also submit your entry by leaving a comment here. The only requirement is to reach Class A before the tournament begins (October 2nd), as all races will be restricted to Class A only.

Houkeraid [2817301]

Following the race at the Two Islands track (S.T.O. Racing 2026-08-17), another 10 participants — those finishing in the top 15 — secured a spot in the 7RoH tournament. I am updating the full list of players who have qualified for the tournament in the opening post.
Also, don't forget: even if you are a novice racer but want to join the tournament, please submit an application in this thread. I will review all interested candidates; the only requirement is that Class A must be unlocked by the start of the tournament.
Good luck to everyone, and take care!

Houkeraid [2817301]

The fourth race on the Industrial track (S.T.O. Racing 2026-08-24) secured qualification for another seven players: (2) Rufus, (5) LoveLlama, (6) Titchy, (10) waverr, (11) Reagan, (12) outspoking, (15) SaltyHawk.
This creates additional registration spots — and even more are expected for future races.
Jac0bi, I’m sorry about the crash, but your entry has been added to the RNG qualification list alongside Nytestar's; I look forward to seeing you among the participants!

Houkeraid [2817301]

JesusSmiff: I will take a spot please

Yes, you have already qualified! A table listing everyone who qualified via the S.T.O. races can be found in the opening post of this thread.

One or two weeks before the tournament begins, I will check with everyone who qualified (via in-game mail) to see if they plan to participate. The final week will be reserved for additional recruitment from among players who did not qualify through the S.T.O. races.
If there are fewer than 90 players, I have a plan ready for a shortened version of the tournament, without changing the way the main prize is determined.
And although the grand prize will go only to the winner, every tournament participant will receive prizes based on the number of races they competed in and the stage at which they were eliminated.

Houkeraid [2817301]

After the fifth race at the Vector circuit (S.T.O. Racing 2026-08-31), the following racers secured their places on the starting grid (in addition to those who had already qualified): (6) Zarmas, (7) Esto, (11) Pacoano, (13) TED, (15) Spink. I look forward to seeing you at the tournament!
There is one month and four qualifying rounds left before the tournament begins:

  • The next qualifying run is on Monday, September 7, at the Mudpit track (class A)
  • Hammerhead - September 14
  • Sewage - September 21
  • Meltdown - September 28

If you are unsure of your chances in the qualifiers or haven't reached Class A yet — but expect to do so by the start of the tournament and wish to participate — please post your applications in this thread.
EiraNoctis, your application has been accepted! I enjoy participating in your tournaments and would be happy to see you in mine!
