“Hard to believe Uncle Danny is really gone!” Red said to himself as he reach for the bottle of Jameson.
Red poured 2 double neat while shaking his head. He raised his glass to no one and said “Here’s to you Uncle Danny. You took me in and give me guidance when everyone else had turned their back on me.”
After downing his drink, Red looked at the clock, 8:09 am, he wasn’t sure what his next move was but he figured now would be a good time to go take a look around that old dump of a arehouse. Maybe he could move whatever was inside and then burn the place down. He could take the insurance money, leave Torn in his rearview and start fresh somewhere new.
Red grabbed his keys and left his modest apartment. He didn’t even bother locking the door, anything he had was replaceable and he didn’t anticipate needing any of it in the near future anyway.
As he made the drive to the warehouse, thought of different ways to burn the place down without any red flags. As he pulled in to the property he shook his head wondering why his uncle gave a fuck about this place. He eased to a stop and shit the car off.
As Red walked up to the side door, he realized there were cameras mounted to the building covering everything angle, then he realized once reaching the door, even this door looked like this place was filled with something of value. “What is so important in this place that justifies this level of security?”
Red unlocked the 3 deadbolt locks and turned the handle. He had expected for the door to make a racket as he opened it, he expected wrong, the door swung open as smooth as butter.
He had never actually been in this shithole, but he soon realized the place was in far better shape than he thought. The warehouse was divided down the middle with a large wall, as he reached the light switch and cut it on he saw that the wall was not actually a wall but a large structure that looked to be one of the large wall in coolers he had even seen.
”What were you up to Uncle Danny?”
Red decided he would check out the rest of the warehouse after checking out the office. When he got to the warehouse office he realized this too was locked down tighter than a preachers wife’s legs. Sitting on the desk was an invoice telling him his suspicion was right, that is a walkin cooler taking up half the warehouse. He then started rummaging through the papers on the desk and soon saw what his uncle was up to. He was in the process of turning this place into some kind of black market blood bank. He even had a few contacts written down who a deal had already been worked out to buy blood by the barrel!
“How the hell were you going to get barrels of blood to sell?” Red had to admit he was a bit freaked out and wondered if his Uncle was part of some satanic cult or possibly worse!
Red had had enough for today, he needed to get home and wrap his head around this whole plan. He grabbed the stacks of paper off the desk and locked “The Fort Knox of Blood” back up and made the drive home
