Been doing the cracking crime for a week or so, today when i cracked a assignmet where i had guessed the last characters, it failed the attempt, and the set my progress back to 1.
Not really sure on what to provide for debugging.

Critical fails remove up to 20 times as much as you would have gained.
When this happens often you are either doing something wrong, or are attempting crimes which are way too hard for you this early in your crime career and need to be working on easier crimes...
As a hint to which one this came under - crimes are listed in order of difficulty, the further down the list they are, the higher your total Crime Experience from ALL of your crimes needs to be. (Your skill in an individual crime is only a minor factor towards success rates, it mainly provides additional outcomes and options within that crime)
You lose skill level and crime experience every time you critically fail a crime. If your level keeps resetting, you are doing something wrong or you are attempting crimes which are more difficult compared to your current Crime experience. Try doing easier crimes and build up your Crime exp before attempting harder crimes.
