my opinion is that Ai music is 100% theft, Unlike people that are influenced by music that they hear, Ai cannot be influenced in the way that we are, it can only reconstruct pieces of data it is fed. In this way, it is a ghoul, it takes instead of giving. It reconstructs the bodies of the dead for a profit. It destroys instead of creating.
AI music lacks the soul that human made music has, no amount of AI development will ever replace or replicate that
I have never listened to AI music and I never plan to listen to AI music. The poster above me said everything there is to say.
Unpopular Opinion- I like it. I listen to SethDrums on YouTube sometimes, and he has some real bangers on there. It's mostly AI stuff.
AI is a tool like any other tool; it has a proper time and place; I believe that AI generated music is not authentic as it does not properly embody the purpose of music; to express a genuine feeling or sentiment. That said, while it may have a place; such as inspiration or guidance; it should not be used to make the music itself or be purely AI generated.
Lyrics can never be replaced by A.I since it requires soul, creativity and a story to tell. But there are some instances of jungle DnB, Lo-Fi and miscellaneous House A.I generated beats that can serve as a good mix playlist.
I hate how it takes away from the people that actually spend hours making their music.
As a music maker, I loathe ai music.
Ai as a tool is fine, and it can be helpful. Maybe you're not familiar with a certain scale and ask ai to list all the chords, or you use ai to help organize a mailing list.
Those things are fine because, imo, ai was supposed to do the boring and mundane tasks so we could have more time to do the things we love, like making music, painting, playing video games etc. Ai shouldn't be used to make art. The human side of art is what makes art beautiful.
I hear a lot of ai "artists" say that people like me are just "gatekeeping". Gatekeeping what? I'm not at your house knocking that pencil out of your hand so you can't learn draw. I'm not hiding your guitar so you can't learn to play.
"But I have a disability!" So did Ray Charles, or Tom Yendell (Born without hands and paints with his feet). If they can do it then there are no excuses.
Im also a music producer. I think ai has its beneficial parts in terms of music production (key and bpm identification/stem separation) but people who are just making music completely with ai calling it music? hell no. That stuff is awful and you can almost always tell its not even good music.
What makes it worst is people are literally profiting from this tactic. That to me is so gross and sickening. Real people put their heart and soul to making music with little to no recognition then these Ai artist come in and become popular overnight. Its sad. hopefully rules some in to play soon for it.
I use suno for fun. I upload guitar riffs I wrote myself and type in a prompt and see what it comes up with. It's spit out some cool stuff.

I would genuinely appreciate some feedback on the stuff im doing good and bad.
I have a fairly eclectic music taste and was involved in anything from musical theatre to bands to DJing on occasion, add unmedicated ADD to the mix and unfortunately once an idea is in your head its hard to get it out. So having an outlet to smash out your ideas and have a result without having to pay mega $$ for studio time is not a bad thing in my mind
I think it sullies the artistic value of music, albeit I wouldn't mind using ai only if it doesn't directly tinker around with the music itself. Although I still think ai could never surpass the creativity and craftiness of the human mind.
It's an interesting point to say it only can take. I think I agree with you, but we already have artists who heavily use samples ro make music, with some songs being entirely made using other people's work, but the transformative will of the artist is what give it value. A well trained AI script could make technically impressive songs using samples, but to me that fact that it's essentially a music machine without a will is what makes it not art.
I have a lot of fun making AI music I wish they never added copyright law with the AI then we could of had more cartoon character's singing songs or even making new albums!
I understand why they do this though, on the count of internet abusers who will make incriminating stuff with AI out of other people through hate content making ...
I find that very intriguing when you think about it if the world was a nicer place we would still have the app "sora 2" and if e had AI in a nice world there would be a lot more lenaticy with it because they would be able to trust us to create worthy stuff with it. The funny thing is they make rules not cause of the bad people or sad people being targeted. They do this so you don't use up our waters on earth. Aliens want our water no no we want to devour water to create easier. and that is sad in funny way. I hope in my heart they create a new energy source that does not involve our water resources.
I would be willing to bet AI would be more FREE to use if it did not take up so much water like sora 2 shutting down cause Disney did not pay it 5 billion $ deal well they needed that money to WORK ON JUST THAT to create a new energy and ....IN MY THEORY! Disney saw this before they could do this and make it better so now it might get worst before it gets better for another 15 years is my prediction I am sorry to say. I been using computers lab room at library for many many years now I think I know what im talking about .
P.S. I have no hate towards Disney or any of the big corps running things I think everything is going great in its own ways.

What I miss most in the current music scene is more authentic artists like Prince, Mariah Carey, Klymaxx, Cher, Tina turner, etc.
My main experience with AI music is getting blindsided by falsely uploaded songs on spotify under inactive and/or unknown names trying to catch people unaware for a quick buck.
this is going to be a very hard take, because i hate that people use ai for either the most simple things, or for competitor reasons on here ::
but i was listening to music one day, stumbled upon the band “Bleeding Verse”. They sounded so sick. Started listening to them daily after i heard “Only When It’s You”. After about a couple weeks, I was intrigued enough to look up if they had any concerts any time soon.
To my surprise , they are an ai band :/. I hate to say that I like them, but i don’t think ai should be a tool that can be used to personally compete in things like the music industry and other areas
