I’ve been working on a little Torn stock/investment tool and figured it was finally at the point where other people might actually find it useful.
Introducing Grimy Capital Management — institutional-grade financial irresponsibility.
The idea is pretty simple: connect your Torn API key and the dashboard is styled to replicate a financial advisor agency. It looks at your current financial position, stock holdings and benefit blocks, then tries to answer the question I kept asking myself when I started;
“Where should I put my money next?”
Instead of manually checking every stock, calculating how many shares you need for the next block, checking current prices and comparing dividend returns, the advisor does most of that in one place.
Most of the information is already freely available on these forums, but has been aggregated in a easy to view format specifically tailored to you.
Current features include:
- Live Torn stock prices.
- Your current stock portfolio bank balance and market value
- Benefit blocks you currently own
- Cost/gap to your next benefit block
- Stock allocation and block-exposure graph
- Future benefit-block thresholds
- Dividend-only stock view and sortable stock/dividend tables
- Estimated dividend payout, annual return, ROI and payback
- Advisor picks based on your current holdings
- Investment methodology showing potential purchases in order
- Wealth, stock and banking award/merit tracking
The Methodology & Guide Logic section is probably the part I find most useful. It treats individual stock blocks as separate investments rather than simply saying “SYM good.”
So you can compare things like:
SYM Block 1 → FHG Block 1 → Bank investment → SYM Block 2 → another dividend block → PI rental → etc.
Higher stock blocks cost progressively more, so the advisor attempts to account for the incremental cost of each block rather than assuming every level has the same return.
The dividend page also lets you sort everything by benefit, current level, next level, block cost, estimated payout, frequency, annual return, ROI and payback period.
Stock names are clickable too, so you can go from the advisor directly to that stock in Torn.
Let me know what you think...
API / privacy
The tool needs a Torn API key because otherwise it has absolutely no idea how financially irresponsible you are.
The key is used to retrieve the Torn data required for the dashboard to function properly.
