Can I buy work stats?

You can buy trains from company directors, which would increase your work stats.

It's generally a good idea as a new player to aim for a low-ish stat-requirement company position, and try to get into a company that has at least 5 stars, ideally one that has 7 or more.  That means you'll benefit from most of the available job specials, get more job points, and your director has more job trains available to boost your stats. Company jobs also tend to have significantly better stat growth per day than you will get from any of the entry level jobs available through the city (though, that stat growth is reduced by how low your stats are compared to job requirements, so getting trains to rapidly raise your stats will further increase your growth there). Company work only raises two stats at a time, but the amount that those stats increase is still far higher than the stat growth from the first few months of casino/army/grocery work.

From an early job stats perspective, Clothing Store is a good fit.  The positions there have relatively low stat requirements, the companies are less competitive for star ratings and therefore less picky about applicants, and most importantly: You can spend your job points on free boosts to your Endurance work stat.  Getting job trains while working a 7+ star clothing store is very likely the fastest means of increasing work stats prior to the point where you have enough stats to start doing education city jobs.

As for job trains, your company director can dump trainings on employees a number of times per day equal to the company star rating (more, if they also have employees in the "Trainer" role). These trains instantly raise one work stat by 50 and a second work stat by 25.
