Faction purchase

Hey all and thanks in advance for any info 

my question is 

if I were to buy a platinum ranked faction and fill it full of new players would it be locked out of wars till the players reach platinum calibre? or can we enlist and drop ranks till we are at the correct rank?

I don't want to purchase it if it's going to take 3 yrs to be able to do wars

You would likely be locked out of wars based on the stats of the players you brought into the faction and over the weeks you would he locked out, you would drop out of platinum. Due to the recent changes you wouldnt even be able to play in platinum based on your stats so may as well stay in your current faction.

No lockout, you instantly de-rank to the true rank
" If you end up a long way from where you belong — usually after a big roster change — we won't make you grind back one war at a time; we'll simply move you to the right division before your next war."

It will immediately drop to a new rank based on the battle stats of the new members, but will keep the performance bonus from the previous members' war results.

So you may initially get harder matches (if the previous members did very well) or easy matches (if the previous members lost a load) but there is no such thing as "locked out of enlisting" any more.

Edit: As an example, if you purchased that shell and moved your entire current faction into that shell, replacing the existing members, when you enlist it will immediately set you to about Silver 1, just like your current faction rank - because it has already decided that your combined strength (ignoring performance modifiers) places you in that position compared to all other enlisted factions.
