I went to Ground Zero a year after it happened. There was a lone bag pipe player outside the construction site, really haunting...
I went to the museum a few years later, and they played the voice messages from those people on the planes, I cried like a baby, not ashamed to admit it....
Years later me and my wife went to the freedom tower. We went to the restaurent at the top and she wanted a picture. I dropped to one knee to get the shot and every fucker in there thought I was preposing. Had to tell the entire room we had been married for about 10 years already, and it was just a photo op...
I love NYC. Been there many times, and the stories you hear if you are willing to talk to the locals of the day blow you mind. From bar tenders to tramps, the stories are heart breaking...
