Hear me out: let us gift subscription time to other players.

We can already give friends Donator Packs, items, cash, etc., so why not have an official option to purchase 1, 3, 6, or 12 months of subscription time for another player?

It wouldn’t necessarily replace Donator Packs—the subscription could simply be applied directly to the recipient’s account and be non-tradeable/non-refundable.

It gives players an easy way to gift something genuinely useful for birthdays, faction competitions, giveaways, Christmas, or just helping out a friend.

And from Torn’s perspective, it creates another reason for people to spend real money. Someone who might never purchase a subscription for themselves could still receive one because another player is willing to buy it for them.

Players get a useful gifting option. Torn gets another source of direct revenue. Seems like a win-win.

I’m actually surprised this isn’t already an option.

In general I think it's a nice option to have -- as this would allow players who don't have the in real life money to afford a subscription to also get the subscription items, have a better chance at books etc.

Though, there's definitely a downside to it. It opens a whole new door to 'RMT' -- people will start trading their Torn cash to be gifted subscriptions to save them in real life cash etc. I also don't think it really attracts a big source of direct revenue, or at least not one that would weigh more than the downsides.
