How bad of an idea would it be to SE strength before def/dex?
It will certainly help with mugging, the only downside is fair fight score in wars, right?
How much fair fight would I lose, if anyone has any example numbers?

no harm in SEing str before defensive stats.
fair fight score is determined based on your overall stat score vs the opponent's stat score, and that is on the overall stats you have, and not just str.
You can SE whatever stat you want. Strength is a good pick.
Most people SE defensive stats when they start stat whoring. If you're not whoring yet and have some spending cash, there's nothing wrong with Strength. Offensive stats help you kill faster or pick harder opponents.
